Morning Minute: Have Yourself a Merry Little – Offline – Christmas

Wednesday, December 24, 2025

Good morning. This quick briefing highlights the stories getting attention today, shows what to watch on the Hill and in the courts, and offers a short holiday reminder about being present with family. Expect a mix of politics, legal news, and a festive nudge toward unplugging for the holidays.

Top Headlines

James Comer’s investigations continue to press officials and agencies across multiple states, driving scrutiny into alleged fraud and mismanagement. The reporting and political energy around these probes have turned up stakes for officials who oversaw taxpayer programs. The broader point is accountability: voters deserve clear answers when large sums and public trust are at risk.

Here we are closing in on the end of 2025, and Tim Walz isn’t laughing anymore, thanks in part to the wave of fraud scandals in his state, all of which happened under his watch, and which equate not to just millions in stolen taxpayer money but billions.

Internationally, El Salvador’s president has challenged critics over criminal deportations and law-and-order policies, framing those actions as victories for public safety at home. That pushback feeds into debates here about immigration, public safety, and who gets the benefit of the doubt when dealing with violent gang networks. The political right emphasizes protecting citizens and supporting leaders who take decisive action against organized criminal threats.

While Hillary and her media allies chase ratings with one-sided documentaries portraying tattooed Tren de Aragua suspects as wide-eyed lambs, Bukele is spotlighting the real human rights victory—the millions of law-abiding Salvadorans and Americans protected by tough deportations who no longer live in fear.

On the Hill and in the White House

Congress is on break and that leaves less to cover, but Republican politics keep moving. Representative Harriet Hageman announced a bid for the Senate seat opening with Cynthia Lummis’ retirement, an important development in Wyoming GOP politics and a reminder that bench-building continues even during recess.

Meanwhile, the White House schedule for the day includes holiday-related events and outreach to service members, a reminder that national leaders balance celebration with responsibilities. Cabinet officials are keeping busy with holiday-related announcements tied to their policy areas and constituent outreach.

Sec. Agriculture – Brooke Rollins — On Tuesday, Rollins teased an announcement regarding family (Christmas tree?) farms.

Court Watch

Court activity this week produced notable rulings affecting former administration policies and ongoing legal actions. One federal judge granted a preliminary injunction in a case challenging revocations of security clearances, while the Supreme Court declined an emergency stay related to National Guard deployment in Illinois. These rulings shape the operational landscape for both legal teams and executive decision-makers.

  • Zaid v. Trump (revocation of security clearance/actions against law firms) — Judge Amir Ali (D.C.) GRANTS plaintiff’s motion for preliminary injunction.
  • State of Illinois v. Trump (National Guard deployment) — SCOTUS DENIES the administration’s application for stay of the district court TRO.

Culture and Lighter Notes

The Kennedy Center event drew attention for being hosted in a new way, and it sparked conversation about the intersection of politics and culture. Celebrations and honors often reflect broader national moods, and this one carried a sense of occasion mixed with political subtext given recent presidential participation.

And in that moment, like the people who were being honored, you could feel all that it had taken to get him there, past everything that had been thrown at him. It was the first time a president had ever hosted the event.

There are lighter stories, too, from amateur crime sleuths making waves in cold-case investigations to celebrity controversies that still capture headlines. These human-interest pieces break up the heavier political and legal coverage and remind readers that not every news item needs a filibuster response.

Coming Attractions

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

Morning Musing

This is a friendly, conservative reminder to step away from the screens over the holiday and reconnect with family and faith. National debates will rage on, but the immediate gift you can give loved ones is your attention and presence. That simple act matters more than another swipe through partisan outrage.

There’s plenty of political chaos waiting after the holidays, and conservatives know public service and civic life are marathons, not sprints. For now, focus on relationships and restoration so you return to the fight renewed and ready.

  • Comer, what the hell else do you need to see! Lock this evil corrupt to the core (Walz) politician up NOW!!!

I just wrote elsewhere on this site about the deep dark corruption going on in Boston as the deception grows!

I quote: “You cannot talk about any achievement that the city of Boston has had in safety, jobs, and economic development, in education, without talking about the Somali community that has lifted our city up. We are proud and we are grateful for our Somali community and for our Somali American neighbors. Boston and the country are clear that hate has no place in our society,” Wu said.

Obviously she is more than a shill for the enemies of America and is absolutely diabolically possessed and mad! Look what the hell Somalia, a so called nation is like, and you plainly see what those people can or cannot accomplish; it’s a freaking LAWLESS IMMORAL HELLHOLE!

The enemies of America, truly orchestrated by Satan which includes of course Islamist’s, Communists, Leftist’s and all manner of Cultist’s have been gearing up for the time to arrive when most if not all of the “Real People and Old Time Heroes” of that “Great Generation” would be gone, because then most or even all of the wisdom that they had and lived by would be forgotten and the newer generations would be so much putty to mold into any Godforsaken derelicts that would fall inline with the Devil’s diabolical plan of Humanities rule by the Antichrist!
Those Great Generation folks knew “right from wrong” and it was “built into their DNA” but now like the “false vaccines of mRNA and the Covid Hoax” that was thrust upon the human race what’s being built into that human DNA is “absolute lies that are truly evil!” Like what this Scripture forewarned would be the case in the “END TIME!”

2 Timothy 3:1-5: “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good.”

And how this puts it in true perspective with no doubt!

Isaiah 5:20 Amplified Bible “Woe (judgment is coming) to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”
