State Officials Investigate Alleged ActBlue Money Laundering Scheme

The Attorneys General of Virginia and Missouri, in conjunction with the Secretary of State of Wyoming, have jointly launched investigations into ActBlue following accusations of involvement in a money laundering operation.

Renowned investigative journalist James O’Keefe III unveiled his first significant probe since the establishment of O’Keefe Media Group in March 2023.

In this groundbreaking investigation, O’Keefe exposed a vast network of donation harvesters operating within the Democratic party through a compelling video release.

Chris Gleason was the first to uncover the information in December 2022, revealing a significant number of “Campaign Finance Mules” who were making numerous donations annually.

These individuals, seemingly average Americans living in typical neighborhoods, were found to be unemployed but consistently contributing to Democrat candidates and their campaigns.

When questioned about voters making thousands of campaign donations, they all suggested that such activity indicated money laundering and involvement in criminal activities.

Tim Cramer, the owner and creative director of Mosaic, a national advertising and marketing agency catering to conservative businesses and political groups, along with TGP contributor Adam Sharp, investigated donation harvesting in Indiana.

Several individuals listed as Democrat Party – Act Blue donors denied making the substantial donations attributed to them.

Investigative researcher Parker Thayer, affiliated with the Capital Research Center, has discovered questionable donation trends linked to numerous contributions reportedly originating from identical sources in Michigan.

Thayer revealed a screenshot that showcased the actions of a solitary donor residing in Monroe.

As per Thayer’s findings, this donor has purportedly made in excess of 20,000 donations since 2019, amounting to over $40,000. “They reside in a modest 1,000 square foot home constructed in 1956,” remarked Thayer.

Another donor in Brighton, Michigan has reportedly made over 2,500 donations since October 2023. Thayer pointed out that this individual’s listed address is a retirement home, prompting concerns about potential exploitation.

Additional inquiry uncovered a third donor in Milan, Michigan, who is purported to have made over 9,000 donations since 2019. As per Thayer, 5,526 of these contributions were made after January 1st, 2023, suggesting that this individual has been donating approximately ten times daily for the past 575 days.

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, and Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray have initiated their own inquiries.

Attorney General Miyares is leading an investigation into ActBlue, ActBlue Civics, Inc., and ActBlue Charities, Inc., collectively known as “ActBlue,” in response to numerous serious allegations of fraudulent, deceptive, and illegal activities in Virginia.

The accusations revolve around substantial contributions from individual donors in Virginia that appear highly implausible and dubious.

Some donors from Virginia have reportedly made multiple daily donations over several years, totaling tens of thousands of dollars.

Many of these donors are elderly individuals listing their occupation as “not employed” or “retired,” with addresses raising suspicions about the legitimacy of the contributions.

These circumstances raise concerns about the potential involvement of fictional donors, dummy accounts, or unauthorized donations.

“The citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia deserve to know that nonprofit and political entities are financed in a legal manner and that entities operating in Virginia are legitimately and legally raising funds,” Miyares stated.

In response to these concerns, Miyares has asked for a thorough explanation of ActBlue’s methods and protocols for validating the authenticity and correctness of donor and contribution details, as well as the procedures employed for disclosing information to regulatory authorities. Due to the gravity of the accusations, he anticipates a substantial reply by August 12, 2024.

In a related development, Attorney General Bailey has also expressed his office’s commitment to investigating the matter. “My team is looking into the disturbing allegations surrounding ActBlue. More to come,” Bailey wrote.

Secretary of State Chuck Gray has declared an inquiry into ActBlue Wyoming, a political action committee that is officially registered with the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office.

ActBlue is being accused of using stolen identities to hide illicit donations, including funds from foreign entities.

As per the Wyoming Election Code, ActBlue Wyoming must submit reports on their contributions and spending to the Secretary of State’s Office under penalty of committing perjury.

Submitting fraudulent reports is considered a breach of the election laws in Wyoming. Secretary Gray holds the legal power to direct potential violations of the Election Code to the suitable prosecuting body.

“The widespread allegations against ActBlue are deeply troubling, and we must ensure that political action committees are following the Wyoming Election Code,” Secretary Gray said in a statement. “Claiming that a person donated to a PAC if that person never donated to that PAC would be a felony under Wyoming law. I am very concerned and remain committed to a thorough review of contributions to ensure compliance with Wyoming law.”
