On Tuesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia alleged that House Speaker Mike Johnson orchestrated a contrived conflict regarding the SAVE Act and a continuing budget resolution.
“Speaker Johnson is setting up a fake fight for the Save Act, which we already passed in July, to vote to extend the Biden/Harris budget,” Greene wrote on the social media platform, X.
“The American people are tired of being lied to.”
Johnson announced during a press conference that the House would be taking a vote on the SAVE Act and a continuing resolution on Wednesday.
“The House has passed this,” Greene said in a video.
“For everyone to stand in there and say ‘we have to vote for this…’ but in order to vote for it you have to vote for a continuing resolution that continues the Biden administration’s budget?”
She said that the Republican base will see through such efforts.
“Conservatives like me actually care about reducing spending and using the power of the purse to do the right thing for the American people,” Greene wrote on X.
Other Republicans who are against Johnson’s decision include Representatives Cory Mills of Florida and Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

Michael absolutely, and I know there are those who said to give him a chance, but they can call me whatever; I said immediately when he was announced as the House Speaker to replace California Commie McCarthy that I didn’t trust Johnson as far as I could throw him! The problem as I understand it is that far too many politicians in Washington got into it for the wrong reason or any of the actual good ones have gone along to get along hoping maybe for the tides to turn, the old “kicking the can down the road,” but it only got a whole lot more worse over the last couple of decades!
