After nearly two months, Kamala Harris unveiled a policy platform on her website. However, it was soon discovered that significant portions of the content were copied from another website.

The policies themselves were a mix of vague and confusing statements that lacked concrete plans for implementation. Additionally, some policies reflected far-left ideologies on topics such as energy and healthcare.

This release effectively dispelled the notion that Harris had shifted towards a more moderate stance.

It’s possible that there is a rationale for this. A recent report suggests that Harris did not actually create certain policy positions, but instead borrowed them from Joe Biden’s previous campaign website.

The Harris campaign is only now, belatedly, realizing that this is a problem. On Sunday, they finally added an “Issues” section to her website. It includes a slew of policies that the campaign has previously outlined, as well as sections on reproductive and civil rights. Unfortunately for Harris, its release was undermined by a simple but telling error: The page’s source code revealed that parts of the platform were copied directly from Biden’s campaign page.

This is dangerous territory for Harris, given that the Times poll found that more than 60 percent of voters wanted the next president to represent a “major change” from Biden—and only a quarter felt that Harris represented that change. That makes sense, given that she’s his vice president! But it means she should be working overtime to distinguish herself from her boss. Instead, she’s doing precisely the opposite. Unwilling to break publicly with Biden—to criticize his handling of say, inflation, immigration, or Israel—she has simply positioned herself as a younger version of him. Whether that’s intentional on her part, or the result of her campaign being run largely by the same people who ran Biden’s disastrous reelection bid, is unclear.

In this context, the revelation was unearthed by The New Republic, a left-leaning publication.

The quoted article, titled “Kamala Harris Can’t Keep Running Like This,” is not a hostile hit piece but rather a desperate plea from her own supporters.

They are starting to realize that Harris’ campaign, despite being heavily supported and entitled, is not gaining traction and is perhaps the most astro-turfed presidential campaign in history.

As the polls continue to fluctuate, Harris is confronted with the prospect that her honeymoon period may be over and she is reverting back to her previous public perception.

The upcoming debate could potentially reverse this trend, but it also carries the risk of hastening her decline.

This marks a critical juncture for the Harris campaign, which appears disorganized and contrived, lacking an authentic policy platform.
