I really hate that everyone feels like they need to say whatever is on their mind nowadays. This has been very true regarding celebrities over the past few years as well.
For some reason, they think that just because they have a voice and freedom of expression that they must express their opinions.
The truth of the matter is we just don’t care. I could care less what Lebron James, Neil Young, or honestly any liberal or conservative celebrity. Their opinions do not influence mine. They’re just another person.
There is an acronym that most of us have probably come across at some point and it’s called THINK.
THINK is something that we should consider before we say something.
Before speaking, we should consider whether what we’re about to say is:
T – True
H – Helpful
I – Inspiring
N – Necessary
K – Kind
Most people do not abide by this principle and they just typically vomit whatever is in their heads and whatever happens, happens. Such is the case of Bette Midler who recently insulted the entire state of West Virginia by calling residents, “poor, illiterate, and strung out”.
Well, Governor Jim Justice didn’t take too kindly to this and fired right back at Midler during his State of the State address last week.
The 70-year-old Republican took aim at Midler — and other haters — at the end of his televised state of the state address when he held up his English bulldog and flashed its rear to the crowd.
“Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there: Kiss her heinie,” Justice said, prompting huge applause and a standing ovation.
“Absolutely too many people doubted us. They never believed in West Virginia … They told every bad joke in the world about us.”
Justice’s bold display was in response to Midler tweeting last month that the entire state of West Virginia was backwards — all because Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) refused to support President Biden’s Build Back Better Act.
“What #JoeManchin, who represents a population smaller than Brooklyn, has done to the rest of America, who wants to move forward, not backward, like his state, is horrible. He sold us out.”
