The nasty House Democrats finally did it. They got their hands on President Trump’s tax returns and released them to the public so everyone can see…well, so they can see what?
What was the ultimate goal of the Democrats in gaining access to his tax returns and releasing them to the public exactly? Did they think that they all had suddenly become tax experts and were going to comb over his returns with a fine-toothed comb and show the IRS that they missed something?
I don’t think so. I think all that they wanted to do was to try and prove that he wasn’t as rich as he says that he is. But was that accomplished now that they’re released? Well, I don’t think so and the reason should be glaringly obvious. It’s your taxable income doesn’t reflect how much money you actually made that year. There are all sorts of deductions that allow you to reduce your taxable income and all President Trump has done is leverage those to his advantage.
But in case you’re curious, here are the highlights of his tax records:
- On their 2015 federal return, Trump and his wife declared negative income of $31.7 million, with taxable income of $0. The couple paid federal income taxes of $641,931.
- The 2016 return declared negative income of $31.2 million, with zero dollars of taxable income. The Trumps paid $750 in taxes.
- The 2017 return declared negative income $12.8 million, with $0 in taxable income. The couple paid $750 in taxes.
- The 2018 return declared total income of $24.4 million, with taxable income of $22.9 million. The Trumps paid $999,466 in federal income taxes.
- In 2019, the Trumps declared $4.44 million in total income, and $2.97 million in taxable income. They paid $133,445 in taxes.
- The 2020 return shows negative income of $4.69 million, with zero dollars in taxable income. The tax paid by the Trumps was $0 and they claimed a refund of $5.47 million.
So what does this all mean? Nothing. It’s a big nothing burger, just like we’ve been saying for years.
Trump does not do his own taxes, her has Lawyers and Accountants do them for him and all does is sign he pile of paper, kind of like what Joe did in St. Croix on the national budget. What I want to see is All Congressional Members having to expose their taxes to the public every year, and explain how their accounts increase times 4 or 6 or 10 times their annual wages. No body can write that many unpublished books, but they can sure get a lot of graft and corruption, insider trading scams, and more. Lets go and examine Nancy and Paul Pelosi’s tax records for the last 15 years and see how much she paid in taxes. After all she is the one who demanded Trumps records and all is fair now days according to her.

Trump had done nothing but used the tax loop holes to reduce his income thus pain no taxes. It is no different than Bezo, Gates, Zuckman have done a long with others. They create a trust and put income into it thus avoiding taxes to be paid. Trump has accountants and their job is to find every tax loop hole to avoid in paying taxes just like you and everyone else. It would be interesting to see Polesi taxes along with so many other politicians. Trump did not write the tax code but his accountants use every possible means to reduce federal income taxes. Now that the liberal progressive democrats have open the door to subpoena Trumps’ tax return it is open season for this to be done to other politicians and the republicans have charge of the house. If they elect some other than McCarthy we can see fireworks happen. I sure hope so.

Dims fail to see the implications of their rabid desires. Like Harry Reid paid for his insistence on removing the filibuster for federal judge appointments. Similarly, they have established with the supreme court that all federal employees- all the way up to the president have no privacy from their IRS documents. Now lets see ALL the Members of the House and senate plus the heads of all State Departments post their income tax returns so the Public can see them. I want to see how Nancy Pelosi pulled off the greatest Stock Market performance on record over the years she has been in office. Funny – Trump makes charitable contributions of nearly One Million Dollars, and legitimately claims a deduction for same; Bill Clinton made a “charitable” donation of his underwear (how generous of him) and claimed a deduction.
