Stephanie Grisham, former press secretary to both President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, is set to release a scandal-laden memoir about her time in the White House.
Melania Trump has reacted by saying the attention-seeking Grisham was looking to cash in after a series of personal and professional failures.
“The intent behind this book is obvious. It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House,” Mrs. Trump’s office said in a statement.
“Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”
One in a long line of grifters snagging book deals enabling them to exploit their time with the Trump administration, Grisham is noted for her lack of a single press briefing while working for President Trump. We can only assume that the former “press” secretary was busy writing her book instead of doing the job she was paid to do.
Politico published an excerpt of the book recently. The excerpt referenced Melania’s silence on January 6th. Grisham claimed that when she asked her then-boss whether she wanted to post a tweet already penned by her secretary, Melania simply responded, “No” as she resumed a social media photo session showcasing a rug.
Although Grisham characterizes the glamorous former First Lady as an icy, frivolous fashion plate, most would have to agree that the multilingual beauty has outclassed “Dr.” Jill Biden and Michelle Obama at every turn. It will be interesting to see whether she and the real president give this silly tome and its “surprising scandals” any more attention after its launch on October 5th.
Sadly, this has become an all-too-common occurrence with former White House staff. For whatever reason, they feel like they’ve got to come up with a scandalous book to make some money.
