The chaotic evacuation of American citizens from Afghanistan, a sluggish economy, and dubious management of the coronavirus pandemic by Joe Biden could result in heavy losses for his Democratic Party next year.

According to Douglas Schoen, a political strategist who previously worked in the campaigns that elected former President Bill Clinton and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, there is a strong chance that Democrats will lose ground in the 2022 mid-term elections.

Schoen mentioned recent opinion polls that show growing discontent among Americans with regard to the work of the Biden administration.

Only 40% of voters surveyed by The Economist believe that Biden is doing a good job; furthermore, 47% feel that the White House has fumbled in its handling of the economy, which was showing some signs of recovery around the time unemployment benefits and coronavirus stimulus payments were distributed a few months ago.

During the first terms of the Clinton and Obama administrations, approval ratings were considerably higher for the former presidents representing the Democratic Party.

By their second terms, the national sentiment had soured to the levels we are seeing today with Biden. Those second terms proved disastrous for Democrats in Congress because they ended up losing many seats in the House and Senate. This scenario could unfold once again in the 2022 mid-term elections, thus shifting the legislative balance towards Republicans.

The whole recall election in California may be done and over with, but it is very telling. California is a very liberal state and that’s no secret. Only about 20% of the state is conservative according to their numbers. In this recall vote, 40% of the state voted to recall Newsom. That is a pull of 20% from the Democrats that are fed up with this sort of crap. And that doesn’t just stop in California. It’s all across the country. If we can stop fraud in the 2022 mid-term elections, we’ll easily get back the House and the Senate.
