Salem Media is expanding Larry O’Connor’s reach: his WMAL morning show will remain in Washington, D.C., but beginning May 4 it will also roll out as Salem’s national morning program across more than 140 affiliates and the Salem News Channel, bringing his interviews and conservative commentary to a much larger audience.

Larry O’Connor will keep his weekday morning slot on WMAL while his program becomes Salem’s flagship national morning show. Listeners on over 140 Salem Radio Network affiliates and viewers on Salem News Channel will now hear the same show, giving O’Connor a wider platform for his analysis and interviews.

“I love it when a plan comes together,” said Townhall Media Publisher, Jonathan Garthwaite. The move links his Townhall editorial role with a bigger radio and television presence, aiming to amplify a single voice across multiple platforms.

For more than a decade, O’Connor has been at the center of the political conversation in Washington, with a daily radio show and podcast followed by lawmakers, White House staff, media figures, and political insiders. In this expanded role, he will help set the tone for the day’s news across Salem’s platforms, delivering timely analysis, impactful interviews, and sharp commentary to a growing national audience.

By aligning O’Connor’s leadership role at Townhall.com with his national radio and television presence—and his growing digital footprint—Salem is further strengthening its integrated, cross-platform content strategy. This move positions O’Connor at the forefront of conservative political discourse while reinforcing Salem Media’s role as a leading destination for news, commentary, and influential voices.

Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Content at Salem Media, said of the announcement, “Larry is the go-to media voice for the people shaping policy in our nation’s capital. He’s built a show insiders rely on and an audience that cares deeply about the direction of the country. We’re proud to expand that success across our national lineup, leading the conversation every morning across America.

O’Connor currently hosts O’Connor and Company each weekday morning on WMAL and has for years drawn an audience that includes insiders and policy makers. His daily presence in the capital has translated into a show format built around interviews with the people who shape Washington, plus quick, pointed commentary aimed at setting the agenda for the day.

“Having worked with Larry for over 10 years, he is one of the most important and impressive voices of the conservative movement, and finally bringing his tremendous morning show national, tied with our work at Townhall Media, will only make that more true as we fight to save America,” said Storm Paglia, VP of News & Operations at Townhall Media. That endorsement underscores how Salem and Townhall see the rollout as strengthening conservative messaging across radio, TV, and digital.

People who follow O’Connor know he has been active across multiple platforms: radio, podcasts, and editorial work at Townhall. This cross-platform approach is exactly what Salem is betting on, aiming to create a consistent morning voice heard on radio and seen on television while feeding a digital audience that consumes clips and on-demand segments.

On a personal note, colleagues and friends point to O’Connor’s loyalty and hands-on support for conservative causes and for individuals entering the field. One anecdote recalls a 2015 visit to Washington when O’Connor welcomed a young fan into the studio, letting an 11-year-old sit in during a broadcast after a chance conversation about a budding interest in radio.

Other stories show O’Connor traveling on his own time to support local efforts, such as a 2019 recall campaign in Simi Valley where he spoke to volunteers before a day of signature gathering. These moments are offered up as examples of a broadcaster who mixes on-air influence with grassroots engagement.

For listeners across the country, the expanded platform means consistent access to O’Connor’s interviews and perspective each weekday morning. Salem News Channel will also offer the show through its app on demand, so the program will be available live on radio and later for streaming audiences.
