Fans without a Paramount+ subscription now have a way to catch up on “Mayor of Kingstown”: multiple seasons of the Jeremy Renner-led crime drama began streaming on Netflix on Monday, October 5.
The move comes as the series approaches its fifth and final season on Paramount+, which has not yet received a release date. Production on Season 5 wrapped in early July. For comparison, Season 4 finished production at the start of June 2025 and premiered on October 26, 2025, giving a rough sense of the lag between wrap and release.
Paramount+’s crowded release calendar suggests Season 5 may not arrive soon. “MobLand” has already returned, “Tulsa King” and “Dexter: Resurrection” are both set to come back later this month, and the final season of “Yellowjackets” drops in November. “Landman” just began production on its third season, meaning that show won’t return until at least mid-2027. Given that lineup, the final season of “Mayor of Kingstown” is most likely to land in December 2026 or early 2027.
The last season will run eight episodes and introduces FBI agent Russell Hardy, played by David Morse, who arrives in Kingstown after the murder of Mike McLusky’s (Renner) sister-in-law. According to Paramount, Hardy “threatens to disrupt the tenuous balance of power in Kingstown.”
Nestor Carbonell also joins the cast as Enrique Molina, described as a boss who comes to Kingstown to avenge a missing relative. Returning cast members include Edie Falco, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James.
For viewers who want to revisit the first four seasons or catch up before the finale, Paramount+ currently offers a seven-day free trial on its Premium plan. The ad-supported Essential plan costs $8.99 a month, while the ad-free Premium plan, which includes Showtime titles and live CBS, costs $13.99 a month. The service can also be added through Hulu or Amazon accounts for $13.99 a month, with free trials available for new subscribers through those platforms as well.
