Vice President JD Vance spoke at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, honoring Charlie Kirk’s influence while pressing a Republican vision of faith, family, and national resilience. He praised Kirk’s advice to marry, build a family, and engage in civic life, tied those personal choices to broader national policy goals like secure borders and affordable housing, and urged students to act rather than complain. Vance mixed personal anecdotes, including a recent call with Kirk about the Middle East, with policy arguments rooted in an America First outlook, and he closed by encouraging attendees to get involved in campaigns and public life.

Hundreds of students filled The Pavilion at Ole Miss despite bad weather to hear speakers on the Turning Point USA campus tour. Erika Kirk opened the event and introduced Vice President Vance as a close friend who understood the stakes of the moment. Vance entered to a montage that highlighted key moments in Charlie Kirk’s public life and got a warm greeting from Erika Kirk before the crowd began chanting his name and school cheers.

Vance opened energetically with, “Ole Miss, I got a question. Are. You. Ready!” and the audience responded with spirited chants. He applauded the enthusiasm and thanked Erika Kirk, calling her “an amazing inspiration to the entire country.” He acknowledged the Mississippi officials and the large turnout of students, framing them as the future of Charlie Kirk’s legacy and praising their willingness to show up.

Vance set aside a prepared text to speak from the heart, saying that was what Charlie often did, and he recounted the day he learned of Kirk’s assassination. He told the crowd how he initially hoped Kirk would survive, but then reflected on the loss for Kirk’s family and for the country. Vance emphasized Kirk’s appeal to young people and the practical advice he repeatedly gave on campuses around the nation.

He and his wife, they are incredible. No one will ever replace my husband, but I do see some similarities of my husband in Vice President JD Vance. That’s why I’m so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight, because he understands the fight we are up against. And he can articulate that in a way that transcends race, that transcends demographic background. He is an amazing man.

Vance quoted Charlie’s core message: fall in love, get married, and start a family. He said that advice was both deeply personal and politically powerful because strong families anchor stable communities and economies. Vance admitted he regretted not having children earlier and joked about being a “geriatric Millennial,” then used that point to argue that the energy of youth ought to be channeled into raising families, not just partying.

Because Charlie wasn’t just a political figure. He wasn’t just a guy who went around campus and said very interesting things, and hosted all of these debates. He was a person, who particularly to the young people of this country, to all of you, he had the very best of advice. And I think that’s the most important way for me to honor Charlie which is to repeat that advice. Something that I have found true in my own life.

Charlie wanted all of you, whatever life path you chose, whatever career you chose, whatever you ultimately did for a living, Charlie wanted you, more than anything, to invest in the things that were worth having. To build a life that was worth building. And that started the most important advice he ever gave you was: Fall in love. Get married, and start a family. And I can’t honor Charlie without repeating that most important advice.

He praised his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, and spoke about how love and partnership changed his life. Vance described friendship with Kirk as rooted in trust and candid talk, the sort of relationship where honest disagreement is part of the bond. He said Charlie’s influence helped shape the administration’s decisions by forcing sober conversations about the costs of foreign entanglements.

But he also had the legacy of believing in political debate, and he was the most effective person in politics that I have ever seen. And by the way, that’s not because Charlie always agreed with me and the president’s policies. I remember, one time in particular, when Charlie Kirk called me, and guys, he was mad. It was one… I wouldn’t say the last conversation I had with him, but it was in the last few months of his life and he called me and he said, “JD, I’m really worried. I’m really worried that what’s going on in the Middle East right now is going to lead the United States into a protracted military conflict.”

Vance argued that the administration’s restraint and targeted operations, such as striking Iranian facilities without drifting into a prolonged ground war, reflected listening to trusted voices like Kirk and a broader public fatigue with endless foreign wars. He also tied policy to domestic priorities, saying a secure border protects young workers’ wages and helps keep housing affordable. Vance made clear that these are not abstract debates but practical steps to restore the American Dream for ordinary citizens.

The Left will say our immigration policy is about hating immigration, hating immigrants. We don’t hate anybody, we love our fellow citizens, and because we want them to have the American Dream, we shut that border down the very first day that Donald J. Trump was the President of the United States.

He closed by urging students to move beyond online complaints and get involved in campaigns, local politics, and civic life, reminding them that meaningful change requires work and courage. Vance said Charlie succeeded because he was courageous, hardworking, and practical, and he challenged the crowd to honor that example through action. After his remarks, Vance held a Q&A session where students asked thoughtful questions and received direct answers from the vice president.

  • I just stated the following elsewhere on this site regarding the Obama Fraud Presidency.

I have no hesitancy in saying that he, Obama serve’s the Devil and all enemies of America, along with him actually having been made president when he was ineligible due to his questionable place of birth! Most American Citizens went along for the ride due to the long history of perceived racism and so many just fell into the tidal-wave quell of “hey its OK perhaps its time for a Black American President;” but what a ride it turned out to be as he began from the get-goes to show his true color, which had nothing to do with skin but more to do with Deception and Destruction, to such a frenzied level of evil where grade school children are now indoctrinated with Communism or Radical Leftism, but even beyond belief some are mutilated and pumped full of puberty blocking drug cocktails to alter their gender which is actually scientifically impossible to do! And in many locales this is being done “without parental consent” as it is in California, and if that isn’t the work of Satan, then we don’t live on God’s green Earth but must be on Mars living in a mass formation psychosis!

American took a wicked turn ever since that Fraud Presidency, and the repercussions are still manifesting today! He engaged in many traitorous acts against Traditional Constitutional America and in large part he ushered in all this evil Transgenderism with Radical Hate America Ideology which we see all over the place! Yes we have a fight on our hands now for sure, to try and regain balance and a return to The America’s Founders Great Truths in the Bill of Rights and Tenets of the U.S. Constitution which were gained only through dedication, faith in God and determination even unto death to fight for Freedom and Individual Human Rights that are endowed upon each of us only by our Creator, the one and only Christian God in the name of Jesus Christ!

    God Bless America!
