The FBI has identified Keith Michael Lisa, 51, as the man accused of attacking the federal building that houses U.S. Attorney Alina Habba’s office on November 12, 2025, and is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

The bureau says Lisa has California roots and ties to New York City and Mahwah, New Jersey, placing him within striking distance of Habba’s office. Officials describe him as roughly 6’3″ and between 200 and 230 pounds, and they are urging the public to be on alert because the suspect “should be considered dangerous.”

The FBI announced it was seeking more information on Lisa in an X post from its official “” account and confirmed the $25,000 reward connected to the case. Authorities say Lisa allegedly entered the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building in Newark while carrying a bat and later returned to the building without it, moving on to the U.S. Attorney’s Office where he damaged government property.

“Keith Michael Lisa is wanted for allegedly entering the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building in Newark, New Jersey, on November 12, 2025, while in possession of a bat,” the wanted notice states. “After being denied entry, he discarded the bat and returned.”

“Once inside the building, he proceeded to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he damaged government property.”

The formal charges listed are “Possession of a Dangerous Weapon in a Federal Facility” and “Depredation of Federal Property,” and the FBI has emphasized both the criminal nature of the act and the public safety risk. Local and federal investigators are coordinating to track leads and collect surveillance and witness information, while the Justice Department has made the suspect’s arrest a priority.

Law enforcement has been tight-lipped on some specifics of the incident, including exactly what was destroyed inside the office and whether Habba was present at the moment of the attempted entry. Even so, public statements from senior officials make clear the alleged motive was to confront the U.S. Attorney personally, and that such behavior will be met with full legal force.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, speaking after the incident, underscored the seriousness of attacks on federal officers and those who serve in the justice system. “Thankfully, Alina is ok,” Bondi said. “Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated. Period. This is unfortunately becoming a trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around the country.”

Habba herself responded to the incident with a firm declaration of resilience, writing shortly after the attack, “I will not be intimidated by radical lunatics for doing my job.” That statement has circulated widely and has been cited by supporters who argue that prosecutors must be allowed to do their work without fear of violent intimidation.

Federal authorities are asking anyone with information about Lisa’s whereabouts or movements before and after November 12 to come forward, stressing that tips could lead to the reward and a swift arrest. The description of his physical appearance, his known connections to the tri-state area, and the timeline of events are all intended to help the public identify him quickly and safely.

While investigators piece together CCTV, access logs, and witness accounts, the broader issue of threats against public officials has attracted attention in conservative circles. Many argue this is part of a disturbing pattern of hostility toward law enforcement and officials handling high-profile cases, and they call for tougher enforcement and clearer consequences to deter future attacks.

The decision to publicize a reward is a common investigative tool to broaden the pool of potential informants, and in this case it signals the FBI’s desire to move fast. A $25,000 reward is intended to incentivize witnesses who might otherwise hesitate and to encourage people with secondhand information to share what they know with investigators.

Authorities continue to describe Lisa as dangerous, and members of the public in New Jersey and neighboring states are urged to be vigilant while avoiding confrontation. The FBI and local police maintain that tips and careful follow-up are the safest and most effective ways to bring the suspect in and prevent further risk to federal employees and the community.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and federal officials have reiterated that all threats to those who carry out the law will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. The community response has included expressions of relief that Habba was unhurt and calls for cooperation with the authorities as they work to finalize the case.

As this develops, the role of public information and timely leads will be crucial to locating the individual named in the wanted notice. For now, the facts on record include the date of the incident, the alleged use of a bat, the charges filed, and the $25,000 reward tied to arrest and conviction, all of which frame the scope of the federal response.

The FBI’s heavy emphasis on the suspect’s dangerousness is a reminder that threats to federal servants are treated as serious crimes, not mere political theater. That stance reflects a commitment to protect those who enforce the law and uphold the justice system, a responsibility officials say they will not shirk.

Public cooperation remains a key part of the effort, and investigators continue to ask anyone with relevant information to contact federal authorities through established channels. The combination of the suspect description, the public reward, and ongoing investigative work gives officials the best chance of resolving the case and deterring similar attacks in the future.
