Old Navy has launched a 44-piece collaboration with designer Joseph Altuzarra, pricing the collection well below typical designer rates while borrowing the look of his runway work.

Altuzarra said the collection drew on literary inspiration. “I had just read ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Pride and Prejudice,’” he told Who What Wear. “I really imagine this collection on a windswept Scottish moor.”

The theme carries through to the product tags, which double as bookmarks. The New York City launch event was held at McNally Jackson Books’ Rockefeller Center location and drew attendees including Riley Keough, Alexa Chung and Cole Sprouse.

The line includes an embellished jacket that drew attention from editors and content creators at the launch, along with several dresses that combine Altuzarra’s signature romantic style with Old Navy’s lower price point. Fair Isle knits, a scarf dress Altuzarra named as a personal favorite, a ribbed turtleneck, and a convertible parka with a detachable plaid lining — worn by Keough at the event — round out the collection.

Other pieces include a draped black tank available in pink and blue floral prints, a funnel-neck coat, floral-print pieces, and a cardigan that reports indicate is already selling out in some sizes.

All items in the collaboration are priced under $150, and shoppers interested in the collection may want to act quickly given the brand’s history of limited designer-collaboration stock.
