Almost a week following his disastrous June debate showing, President Joe Biden participated in two highly anticipated phone interviews with radio stations.

One took place in Philadelphia, while the other occurred in Milwaukee. Both interviews aimed to connect with black voters and address any doubts about Biden’s proficiency in speaking coherently, particularly in uncontrolled settings.

Neither interview accomplished that. As previously stated, both segments were recorded in advance.

Additionally, radio hosts Andrea Lawful-Sanders of WURD and Earl Ingram of Civic Media acknowledged that the Biden campaign provided them with questions ahead of the interviews, many of which were used during the discussions.

The aftermath of these disclosures led to reports from Philadelphia’s WURD that they had “separated” from Lawful-Sanders, emphasizing that “WURD Radio is not a platform for the Biden or any other Administration.”

Civic Media, on the other hand, stood behind Ingram. Yet on Thursday, they issued a statement noting that the radio station had agreed with the Biden campaign’s request to edit two parts out of the interview before it aired:

Civic Media, a Wisconsin-based progressive talk-radio network, said Thursday it had agreed to make two edits to an interview with President Joe Biden at the request of his campaign before the broadcast aired, a decision the station said fell short of “journalistic interview standards.”

“On Monday, July 8th, it was reported to Civic Media management that immediately after the phone interview was recorded, the Biden campaign called and asked for two edits to the recording before it aired. Civic Media management immediately undertook an investigation and determined that the production team at the time viewed the edits as non-substantive and broadcast and published the interview with two short segments removed,” the station said in a statement released on Thursday.

The radio station went on to clarify that these were the parts of the interview they agreed to take out (audio clips can be heard at that same link):

  • At time 5:20, the removal of “…and in addition to that, I have more Blacks in my administration than any other president, all other presidents combined, and in major positions, cabinet positions.”
  • At time 14:15, in reference to Donald Trump’s call for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, the removal of “I don’t know if they even call for their hanging or not, but he–but they said […] convicted of murder.”

Despite all of the above, Civic Media emphasized their unwavering support for Ingram.

In the case of Joe Biden, unequivocal support is no longer a reality, especially after the debate and the subsequent scripted and edited radio interviews that were intended to reassure supporters but ultimately had a detrimental effect on his campaign.

  • this rhetoric is getting old. biden cant talk without a teleprompter. he won’t go without one. his hour long “speech” tonite was a joke. the people on the cameras didnt pan the room but I am sure there were teleprompters in the back of the room. this man had all the questions and his scripted answers in advance. why wont the “journalists” tell him he is polling way under trump? why wont they tell him the truth, when he makes his gaffes,? they will not correct this man for love or money it seems. why wont they just tell him everyone in his party want him gone? they stand there and let him go on and on believing and spewing his lies. they could have also told him three of his aides were subpoenaed to testify on his mental acuity. this is. a joke, but no one is laughing. least of all the american people.

    • Totally agree with you. The moron-in-chief made me miss the first half hour of an important rerun of Law & Order.

  • What about the Pennsylvania radio interview where the walking dead, Joe Biden, announced that he was very happy to be a “proud black woman.” Apparently, that radio station did not yield to the Communist censors’ pressures to edit out the proud black woman’s comments.
