The State and Health and Human Services departments recently decided to reject the amendments to the International Health Regulations proposed by the World Health Assembly. These changes would have expanded the authority of the World Health Organization (WHO) during public health emergencies. If accepted, the WHO would have had the power to enforce global lockdowns and travel restrictions, which the U.S. government found problematic.

The departments explained that these amendments would clash with the United States’ own public health strategies. They pointed out that the WHO has been susceptible to political influences, especially from China, during past outbreaks. This susceptibility could lead to measures that don’t align with American values or priorities.

There is concern that the suggested changes could stifle scientific debate. The amendments also push for digital health documents, which could infringe on privacy and information control. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy highlighted these issues, emphasizing the need to protect civil liberties and U.S. sovereignty.

Kennedy warned that these amendments could lead to narrative control and censorship, similar to what was experienced during the COVID pandemic. He reassured that international cooperation is possible without compromising the Constitution. This stance was echoed by others in the administration.

State Secretary Marco Rubio criticized the amendments for their vague language. He expressed worry that they might lead to WHO-coordinated responses focused on political issues rather than effective actions. Rubio’s concerns reflect a broader hesitation to hand over decision-making powers to international bodies.

Republican members of Congress support the decision to reject the amendments. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, for example, has been a vocal critic of WHO’s expanded powers. He sponsored a bill requiring Senate approval for any WHO treaty related to pandemic preparedness.

The GOP’s resistance is rooted in a desire to maintain national sovereignty. They argue that such international agreements should not bypass the legislative process. This ensures that any international commitments align with American interests.

Many conservatives fear that these amendments could erode the U.S.’s ability to make independent decisions. They see international oversight as potentially harmful to national security and public health. This sentiment is shared by many within the Republican Party.

Fox News reported on the potential implications of these amendments. They highlighted the risk of losing control over domestic public health policies. The network emphasized the importance of protecting American freedoms.

Newsmax also covered the story, focusing on the influence of foreign powers like China. They raised questions about the WHO’s impartiality and effectiveness. This skepticism is a recurring theme in conservative media.

The New York Post pointed out the importance of maintaining rigorous debate in scientific circles. They warned against measures that could suppress differing viewpoints. This aligns with the broader conservative push for transparency and accountability.

The overall narrative in conservative outlets is one of caution. They stress the need to guard against international overreach. This perspective is rooted in a desire to protect American values and freedoms.

While the debate over these amendments continues, the U.S. remains firm in its stance. The administration is committed to preserving the nation’s independence. This decision reflects a broader commitment to upholding constitutional principles.

  • They better oppose it and actually MUST REJECT IT!
WHO’s director is a damned Marxist Commie asset of the Globalist Cabal and always plays in favor of evil regimes like the CCP! He and the whole WHO organization are nothing but EVIL and serve Satan!

Rubio better make this distinction clear of what that Cabal is all about and push to CANCEL all ties with it!
