A movement started a couple of years ago to protect billionaire financier radical leftist activist George Soros by accusing anyone who invoked his name in a negative light of being an anti-Semite.  This was odd, because Soros himself is not a religious person, and most people probably don’t even know he’s of Jewish ancestry.   Just as recently as last week a story came out about Soros being “a leading target of anti-Semitism”

I have never heard a single prominent conservative complain about Soros being a Jew.  That kind of rhetoric isn’t found in conservatism.  I believe this phenomenon was created, because Soros is a huge benefactor for many leftist causes around the world, and behaving like race hustlers, the Left attacks his critics with charges of bigotry, even though criticisms barely ever mention his Jewish heritage.

In fact, the only time I believe they have was to point out that Soros himself openly admits and has no regrets of being a Nazi sympathizer during the Nazi regime.  If that’s being anti-Semitic, then the definition has been radically changed.

Then we had this genuinely weird moment on Fox News where a host tried to stop Newt Gingrich in his tracks the minute he mentioned that Soros was supporting efforts behind the Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests.

This caused a noticeable awkward silence from co-hosts Harris Faulkner and Melissa Francis during Wednesday’s edition “Outnumbered.”

“The number one problem in almost all these cities is George Soros-elected, left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up,” said Gingrich.

“You cannot solve this problem, and both Harris and Biden have talked very proudly about what they call progressive district attorneys, progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros money and they’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting the violent criminals back on the street,” he went on to say.

Fox News commentator Melissa Francis interrupted saying, “I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this. I was going to say you get the last word, speaker…”, and the former House Speaker went on to claim that Soros paid for the protests, asking why the “millions of dollars” couldn’t be discussed on the panel.

“He paid for it,” responded Gingrich.

“No he didn’t,” said Democratic strategist Marie Harf. “I agree with Melissa, George Soros doesn’t need to be part of this conversation.”  So, now Fox News allows their hosts to shut down honest conversations for political reasons?

“Okay?” said Gingrich, bewildered. “So it’s verboten?” (forbidden)

The segment was posted on social media by Fox viewers who became angry at the notion that now even Fox News is protecting the man who funds most radical progressive protests and other events, when there is evidence that he does.

“Why in the HELL is Fox News protecting George Soros? What is going on here? Someone needs to uncover this outrage,” tweeted commentator Neal Boortz.

Some people noted that Fox News itself has reported on the number of progressive district attorneys who had been financially backed in their election races by progressive leftists organizations that are funded by George Soros.  “Discover the Networks” has listed over 330 connections to Soros, including 210 leftist organizations he has funded.  Nothing to see here, right?  Certainly if any topic should be open for discussion, it’s that.

“Soros, through the Justice & Public Safety PAC and other groups, has been spending millions of dollars on prosecutorial races in recent years, with a number of beneficiaries making headlines since their elections,” the Fox story said at the end of July.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican candidate for Congress from Georgia, took to social media and retweeted a post from conservative activist Jack Posobiec.

“I think we should stop radical leftists like George Soros from funding the destruction of America. Happy to talk about it. As a matter of fact, I talk about it all the time.”

David Dudenhoefer, another GOP candidate for Congress from Michigan, also tweeted about the segment:

“I didn’t realize how left Fox News has become until this very moment. Newt Gingrich is 100% accurate with the best analysis I’ve ever heard. Apparently the truth is ‘verboten’ on Fox. My question is: What does George Soros have on the powers-that-be at Fox News?”

And that’s a very good question, because I remember when Glenn Beck did back to back episodes on his TV show about Soros when he was at Fox News.  Apparently, after the first episode a high powered attorney contacted upper management at Fox and told them that Mr. Soros was not happy with the things Beck was revealing.  The truth always hurts.

Other Twitter users were just as perplexed.

I only watch Tucker, Sean, and Laura anymore on that network.  Otherwise, I watch One America News, the most honest, hard-hitting news network out there.
