An observational study backed by The Wellness Company reports that 84.4% of cancer patients who took a compounded combination of Ivermectin and Mebendazole experienced a clinical benefit, according to findings published in the journal Anticancer Research.

The analysis, produced by The Wellness Company’s Chief Medical Board along with the McCullough Foundation, tracked 197 cancer patients who used the company’s U.S.-compounded formulation of 25 mg Ivermectin and 250 mg Mebendazole. Of those, 122 patients reached the six-month follow-up mark. Dr. Peter McCullough led the research.

Both drugs are FDA-approved, inexpensive and have been used for decades to treat parasitic infections. The researchers say Ivermectin may disrupt pathways tumors use to grow and trigger apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells, while Mebendazole is believed to cut off the glucose supply abnormal cells need to survive. Combined into a single compounded capsule, the regimen is designed to be simple enough for patients to stick with.

“This study reveals an exciting new potential that should expand the consideration of ivermectin and mebendazole for inclusion in the treatment of multiple cancer types,” Dr. McCullough said. “We urgently need a full-fledged scientific investigation into this class of medications and their impact on cancer treatment.”

Context: A Broader Erosion of Trust

The study’s release comes amid a well-documented decline in Americans’ confidence in the healthcare system. In April 2020, 71.5% of Americans said they placed “a lot of trust” in doctors and hospitals. By January 2024, that figure had fallen to 40.1%.

The Wellness Company, which markets itself as an alternative to mainstream medical institutions, says it is the only company prescribing this U.S.-compounded Ivermectin-Mebendazole combination. The company sells 45-day and 90-day supplies directly to consumers, requiring a medical intake form after checkout to complete a prescription request; the offer is limited to U.S. residents.

Cancer remains one of the most common diagnoses in the country, with roughly one in three Americans expected to face it in their lifetime. Standard treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation and targeted therapies can carry significant side effects, high costs and variable outcomes — limitations the study’s authors cite as motivation for exploring lower-cost alternatives.

The company has also published patient testimonials describing significant improvement, including a woman who said she was diagnosed as stage 4 with metastatic breast cancer and later had a PET scan showing no detectable cancer, and a mother who described a marked reduction in lung nodules in her daughter following treatment. These accounts are individual reports rather than part of the controlled study data.

The findings have not yet been validated by independent, randomized controlled trials, which researchers in the field typically regard as the standard for establishing whether a treatment is broadly effective and safe for widespread use.
