WWE Women’s United States champion Jacy Jayne will make her first appearance in a Money in the Bank ladder match this Saturday, competing for a briefcase that guarantees its holder a future world title opportunity.

The event takes place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will air on ESPN Unlimited starting at 6 p.m. ET.

Jayne will face five other competitors in the women’s ladder match: Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. The winner becomes an automatic contender for a world championship, which the holder can “cash in” at a time of their choosing.

Speaking with OutKick Dropkick ahead of the match, Jayne declined to detail her in-ring strategy but said she has studied her opponents closely.

“I definitely have a strategy. I’m not going to tell you what it is. You gotta watch the match to find out. But I know all the girls in this match very, very well. I’ve been working with them for years. So, I’ve definitely been watching tape back to refresh my memory, like, this person moves like this. This person does this, let me watch out for that. I’m ready to climb that ladder and be ‘JC in the Bank.'”

Should she win, Jayne did not commit to a single target for a future title match. WWE’s current champions are Stephanie Vaquer, who holds the women’s world title, and Chelsea Green, who holds the WWE women’s title. Green shares the SmackDown roster with Jayne, which would make her a logistically convenient target — but Jayne said she intends to keep every champion guessing.

“Everyone’s a target. I want to keep everyone’s head on a swivel. I want them to not know what way I’m coming, when I’m coming. I might pretend I’m going to cash in 52 times before I actually cash in. I want people to be paranoid – terrified, paranoid, all of the above. I want to be the most obnoxious human being alive with this briefcase.”

Jayne arrives at the match on the strength of a rapid rise through WWE’s ranks. She previously held the NXT women’s championship and told OutKick Dropkick last spring that she felt ready for a call-up to the main roster. That call came in April, when Jayne debuted on SmackDown alongside fellow Fatal Influence stablemates Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.

“When you believe in yourself, you can accomplish crazy things. You almost fake it ’til you make it in a way. I knew I was ready. There were times in the past that I was like, ‘I’m ready, I’m ready,’ but I wasn’t ready. This time, I really knew I was ready and when I got that opportunity, I was not going to lighten up.”

Jayne went on to win the women’s U.S. title from Tiffany Stratton, while Henley and Reid later captured tag team titles of their own.

“I felt like a, especially with Lainey because she’s so new coming into this (and) hasn’t been wrestling that long, I felt like a proud mom watching her win the title. I feel like I’ve seen them also struggle and doubt themselves. Everyone has their ups and downs, it’s inevitable. So, when you see people that you care about get to the next level and win, it’s very special and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Saturday’s Money in the Bank event marks a high-profile night for New Orleans, drawing a national WWE audience to the Smoothie King Center.
