Paramount+ has renewed its crime drama “Tulsa King” for a fifth season, with production moving from Georgia to New York as star Sylvester Stallone’s character, Dwight Manfredi, returns to the mob roots the show has built its story around.
The streamer confirmed the renewal ahead of the Season 4 premiere, set for Friday, October 16 at 3:01 a.m. ET, exclusively on Paramount+. Production on the fifth season is already underway.
“We are thrilled to bring fans even more of this incredible series, and to be shooting the next season of Tulsa King in New York, where Dwight Manfredi’s story will continue to evolve,” said Drew Brown, EVP of Physical Production at Paramount Television Studios. “We’re proud of the work we’ve done in Georgia, and it remains an important venue for us.”
Season 5 will bring new cast additions. Scarlet Rose Stallone has been promoted to series regular, and the show has added Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli.
What’s Coming in Season 4
Season 3 showrunner Dave Erickson has exited the series. Terence Winter, who served as showrunner for Season 1, has returned as head writer and executive producer.
According to Paramount+’s official description: “In Season Four, Dwight (Stallone) fights to legitimize his empire and protect his crew as corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies, and a crushing personal loss hit from every direction. However, every hard-won gain comes with even harder truths: about loyalty, leadership and the cost of ambition. Each move drags Dwight deeper into the street instincts he left behind in New York – turning Tulsa into a battleground and Dwight into the one threat no one can afford to underestimate.”
Returning cast members include Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Frank Grillo, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, James Russo, Kevin Pollak, Neal McDonough, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.
Gretchen Mol joins the cast as a series regular, playing Tulsa politician Amanda Clark. Eden Lee joins in a recurring role as Maya, described as the “officious Chief of Staff for the Governor of Oklahoma.”
