Jamar Goff, 23, the foster son of television personality Ree Drummond, was arrested Sept. 15 on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and booked on charges of drug possession, second-degree assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempting to elude police, according to an inmate record.
Goff is being held at Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham on a $35,000 bond.
Court documents obtained by TMZ indicate officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on the UAB campus and found Goff shirtless and asleep on a bench near a fountain. When officers approached, Goff allegedly told them he was on campus waiting for someone to sell him “ice,” a slang term for methamphetamine, according to the documents cited by TMZ.
Officers initially let Goff go but returned after discovering he had an outstanding warrant. When they tried to handcuff him, the documents state, Goff ran and allegedly struck an officer with an open palm.
According to the court documents, officers subsequently searched Goff’s backpack and reported finding a glass pipe, then searched his person and reported finding 1.8 grams of methamphetamine.
Fox News Digital reported it had reached out to representatives for Drummond; no statement had been provided at the time of that report.
