County planners in Placer County have signed off on a 25-acre surf resort proposed for west Placer County, clearing a major regulatory hurdle for a project that will bring an artificial wave lagoon, hotel and skate park to the Sacramento-area suburbs, hundreds of miles from the Pacific coast.
The Alchemy Surf Resort, developed by Inland Surf Company, is planned as part of the larger Placer One development. At the center of the project sits a 5-acre surf lagoon, along with a standing wave pool, artificial beaches and activity areas.
The resort will also include a 100-room hotel, bungalows and a 28,390-square-foot surf center. Plans call for an outdoor skate plaza, a children’s playground, spas, cold plunges, and an action-sports facility featuring trampolines, climbing walls and indoor skating. Several
