The Undertaker, the WWE legend once known for menacing decades of opponents as the “Dead Man,” has traded the ring for the boardroom, taking on a creative leadership role at Mexico’s AAA wrestling promotion. WWE veteran Nattie says his influence has been a driving force behind the promotion’s rising profile.
“‘Taker is the man. Everybody loves working for ‘Taker,” Nattie told OutKick Dropkick. She said performers like Chelsea Green have publicly said they wanted to work for him, texting him directly to ask to appear at AAA events. “And same with Roxanne (Perez), I know she wanted to do AAA,” Nattie added.
According to Nattie, The Undertaker shares creative duties at AAA with Jeremy Borash, working alongside the family that ran the promotion before WWE became involved. “They still kept management, they still kept people, they still kept the family,” she said. “But ‘Taker has been involved, WWE has been involved, Jeremy Borash – they just elevated it.”
Nattie drew a distinction between The Undertaker’s approach and that of other WWE creative figures, including Shawn Michaels, who helps oversee NXT, and Triple H (Paul Levesque), WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
“The coolest thing about Undertaker is that his style is very different as a booker. It’s very different than Shawn Michaels. It’s very different than Triple H. But it doesn’t mean that any one of them is better than the other,” Nattie said. “It just means that ‘Taker has a different style.”
She described his creative instincts as favoring “aggression” and “intensity,” and said he places heavy emphasis on selling moves convincingly. “I like to say ‘Taker kinda loves violence,” Nattie said. “He’s just such a cool boss. He’ll give us advice, he’ll give us feedback but he also gives us support and encouragement and he really believes in us.”
Nattie also credited The Undertaker with being personally involved in helping performers prepare for major matches. She said he offered her direct guidance on her entrance ahead of last year’s Triplemania event. “He was helping me for my entrance for last year’s Triplemania. He was helping me with different ideas. He’s the man,” she said.
The comments come after AAA closed out Triplemania 34 with a series of major matches and title changes, developments expected to reshape the promotion’s roster ahead of its next scheduled show on Saturday night.
