LSU’s live tiger mascot stand-in, Mike the Tiger, marked the arrival of Halloween season by dressing up as horror icon Michael Myers and appearing to trail an on-field official during a game, a moment captured on video that quickly drew attention.

The costume featured a tiger mascot suit layered under a Michael Myers mask — the character’s signature look famously based on a repainted William Shatner mask. LSU had a bye week before Saturday’s matchup against Auburn, giving the mascot room for the seasonal stunt.

In the clip, the costumed mascot can be seen following closely behind an official, mimicking the slow, silent pursuit style associated with the “Halloween” film franchise. A person who appeared to be an LSU staffer is then seen stepping in to redirect Mike the Tiger away from the official.

The moment comes as LSU sits with two losses on the season, with its College Football Playoff hopes already under strain heading into the Auburn game.

No further details were provided about any response from game officials or LSU athletics regarding the stunt.
