ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel used Tuesday’s broadcast of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to encourage viewers to keep shouting a vulgar phrase at President Donald Trump’s rallies, after a heckler used it at a recent Trump event in Mississippi.

“Wouldn’t it be a shame if people started yelling that everywhere he goes? ‘Shove that ballroom up your fat ass!'” Kimmel said, referencing the heckler who was removed from the Mississippi rally by security.

Kimmel went further, unveiling a red t-shirt printed with the phrase in white capital letters. “You know what would be even worse? If people started printing it on shirts,” he said.

He then added, in a tone that read as sarcastic encouragement rather than discouragement: “Please, please don’t do this at his next rally tomorrow in Ohio or the next one in South Carolina. Please! It’s beneath us.”

The Ballroom Dispute

The segment ties back to a legal and political fight over a $400 million White House ballroom project. In August, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that construction on the project could proceed.

Trump responded to the ruling in a social media post at the time: “We are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court. The Military/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND!”

He continued: “It is something that Presidents have wanted for 150 years, and that the Military has been seeking for the last 100 years. Their wish will soon be fulfilled! Construction is under budget and ahead of schedule. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Kimmel’s bit comes as Trump continues a rally circuit that, per the host’s remarks, was set to include stops in Ohio and South Carolina following the Mississippi event.
