Most folks are getting ready for next week’s Fourth of July celebrations, and it’s not just about BBQs and fireworks. This holiday holds a special meaning, reminding us of the sacrifices our forefathers made for our independence. It’s a day to reflect on the freedom we enjoy thanks to those who fought for it.

Our brave service members are stationed all over the world, working hard to keep our freedom intact. For some time now, many Americans have felt a bit down about the state of the country. However, a fresh survey is showing a shift in sentiment, with people starting to feel more positive.

The new poll from Emerson College reveals that a good number of registered voters are feeling more patriotic since Donald Trump took the presidency. Conducted between June 24-25, it surveyed a thousand voters, showing 39 percent feeling more patriotic, 34 percent unchanged, and 27 percent feeling less patriotic. Interestingly, these feelings are divided along party lines.

Within the Republican crowd, a strong 67 percent reported an increase in their patriotic feelings. On the flip side, 45 percent of Democrats said they felt less patriotic. Independent voters were pretty split, with 31 percent feeling more patriotic and 30 percent feeling less so.

When it comes to Trump’s job performance, the poll showed a tight race. About 45 percent of those polled think he’s doing a good job, while 46 percent disapprove. White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers commented on the poll, highlighting a resurgence of American pride and feeling of safety under Trump’s leadership.

Critics from the left, such as California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff, have tried to paint recent events like the military parade in D.C. as authoritarian. Schiff labeled it a “dictator-style military parade,” but conveniently left out that it was celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The parade included a swearing-in ceremony for new recruits, celebrating the bravery of our service members.

Looking forward, Americans have another chance to show their love for the country with the upcoming 250th birthday celebration in 2026. Trump has already set up a task force to plan this grand event, aiming to evoke a renewed sense of patriotism in all Americans. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s achievements.

America might not be perfect, but it’s always striving to improve. Over the years, people from around the globe have come to America to build better lives, embracing the freedom and opportunities it offers. Trump’s focus on putting America first has rekindled pride among many citizens.

As we near Independence Day 2025, the true meaning of the day remains vibrant. The spirit of patriotism is alive, reminding us of the strength and resilience of our nation. It’s a time to celebrate the freedom and independence that defines America.
