Angie Nixon, a Democratic Socialists of America member running for U.S. Senate in Florida, has staffed her campaign with aides who have publicly backed abolishing ICE, defunding police, and paying reparations, according to a review of their social media histories.

Nixon, who joined DSA this year, has called for defunding and abolishing ICE and has said Republicans “are killing people.” Her campaign manager, Corryn Freeman, has been paid $23,829.36 since joining the campaign in May 2026, records show.

In posts from 2020, Freeman celebrated cities burning during unrest following George Floyd’s death, called for defunding police, supported abolishing ICE, said American policing has “white supremacist and anti-black roots,” and advocated for large-scale reparations.

Another senior adviser, Eunic Epstein-Ortiz, who also serves as a spokesperson for the No Kings organization, has defended diversity, equity and inclusion programs, criticized country music over claims of racism, called restrictions on drag performances for people under 21 “devastating,” and said “there is no LGBTQ+ pride without drag queens. Period.”

Nixon’s Central Florida organizer, Matthew Grocholske, criticized Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, a Democrat, as “weak” after Frey declined to back abolishing ICE. Grocholske has also said “the fascists are destroying the country,” described the United States as a “genocidal regime,” and called opposition to transgender athletes in female sports “disgusting.”

Former Staffer’s Posts on Israel

The disclosures follow earlier reporting by Fox News on Nixon’s former social media director, Sara Mahmoud, who expressed support for Hamas following the group’s October 7, 2023, terror attacks on Israel and said she wished for the deaths of Zionists.

Mahmoud posted under multiple aliases across several accounts. “Can Zionists die already?” she wrote in one post to a now-deleted account on X.

“Glory and honor to our freedom fighters. Praying for their safety and success.”

That post was published on Nov. 18, 2018, the same day Hamas fired as many as 400 rockets from Gaza into Israel. Later that year, Mahmoud also shared a post marking the 31st anniversary of Hamas’s founding in 1987, reading: “Palestine is the land of the Arab Palestinian people, from it they originate, to it they adhere and belong, and about it they reach out and communicate. #Hamas31 #WhatsHamas.”

In a 2016 post, Mahmoud wrote of Jewish people: “Wow, white Jews are so entitled lmfaoooo please die.”

Nixon’s campaign has staffed its ranks with aides whose public statements track closely with her own stated positions on policing, immigration enforcement, and reparations as she seeks Florida’s Senate seat.
