Former First Lady Melania Trump may have been relatively quiet on the campaign trail, but as her new book launch approaches, she is becoming more vocal.
In her first interview in over two years, Melania made headlines once again. The interview, conducted by Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, covered a range of topics, including her thoughts on her son Barron Trump’s journey to college, her experiences as a mother, and who she holds responsible for the assassination attempts on her husband, former President Donald Trump.
Melania opened up about her feelings on Barron Trump leaving for college in New York. Despite her son’s departure, she insists that she doesn’t feel like an “empty nester.”
Barron, according to Melania, is making his own decisions, and she respects his choice to attend college in New York while continuing to live at home. She expressed pride in her son’s independence and maturity.
“I could not say I’m an empty nester. I don’t feel that way. I raised Barron as his own person and gave him his own yes and nos. I respect that it was his decision to come here,” Melania told Earhardt.
She continued to praise Barron, acknowledging that while his life is quite different from other 18- or 19-year-olds, she hopes he will have a fulfilling college experience.
“He wants to be in New York, study in New York, and live in his home. And I respect that. He’s an incredible young man. I’m very proud of what he’s grown up to be—his strength, intelligence, knowledge, and kindness.”
Melania emphasized how different Barron’s life has been compared to his peers but believes he is enjoying this new chapter. “I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18- or 19-year-old child,” she added.
The conversation took a more serious turn when Earhardt asked Melania about the assassination attempts on her husband’s life.
She did not shy away from addressing who she holds responsible for these incidents. Melania pointed the finger at what she described as “vile” rhetoric from political opponents and the mainstream media.
“Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy, calling him vile names. They are only fueling a toxic atmosphere, and all of these people that want to harm—this needs to stop,” Melania stated.
Her frustration was palpable as she emphasized the divisive political climate that she believes has endangered her husband’s life.
Melania also touched on her belief that Donald Trump was divinely protected during the assassination attempts. “I think something was watching over him. It’s almost like the country really needed him,” she reflected, suggesting that her husband’s survival was no mere coincidence.
Throughout the interview, Melania reiterated the need for unity in the country. She urged Americans to read a letter she had written on July 14th, which she believes still holds relevance in today’s divided political landscape.
“The country needs to unite, and I encourage everybody to read my letter again because this cannot continue,” she said.
In her usual poised and composed manner, Melania Trump conveyed a strong sense of pride in her son, concern for her husband’s safety, and a call for the country to come together.
With her upcoming book, it appears she is ready to step into the spotlight once again, using her platform to address personal and national issues alike.

I agree with everything she said and these few points hit home deeply with me as I had been thinking as much since before the attempts on president Trumps life.
