DIRECTV is offering a promotion that bundles a year of free Netflix with a package that already includes Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max and AMC+, giving consumers a way to consolidate several streaming subscriptions under one monthly bill.
The offer runs through DIRECTV’s Genre Packs, a lineup the company launched in early 2025 to let customers pay for narrower channel bundles built around specific interests, such as sports, news or entertainment, rather than a full traditional cable package.
The entertainment-focused option, called the MyEntertainment Genre Pack, costs $42.99 a month and includes more than 60 channels, among them Bravo, FX, FXM, FXX, Food Network, HGTV, MTV, CNN, Fox News and MS Now, along with WNBA games on ION.
Subscribers to that pack also get access to Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max and AMC+ at no additional charge, a bundle DIRECTV values at more than $30 a month on its own.
The newest addition is Netflix. For a limited time, customers who subscribe to a Genre Pack and add a Gemini streaming device can get Netflix free for a full year.
To take advantage of the deal, consumers sign up for a Genre Pack at DIRECTV.COM and add the Gemini device to the subscription. The MyEntertainment Genre Pack runs $42.99 a month, or $52.99 a month with the Gemini device leased. Free Netflix continues for a year as long as the customer stays subscribed to a Genre Pack with the Gemini device.
The offer comes with several conditions. It is limited to new, qualifying DIRECTV customers, though both new and existing Netflix subscribers are eligible for the free year. After the promotional period, Netflix Standard with Ads continues at its regular price, currently $8.99 a month, and customers must keep both the service and the device — which carries an additional $10 monthly fee — to remain eligible. Subscriptions renew monthly unless canceled, the Gemini device is subject to an equipment lease agreement, and additional fees may apply if it is not returned.
