The race for the Republican nomination for the presidency is gearing up to be a fiery battle between two key candidates: President Trump and Ron DeSantis.

Both political heavyweights are setting their sights on winning the February caucuses in Iowa to strengthen their positions in the GOP.

With the caucuses potentially offering the chance to secure their positions atop the party, both men are whipping up their grassroots support in the Hawkeye State.

Trump has been ramping up his attacks on DeSantis, criticizing his stance on entitlement reform, his loyalty to conservative causes, and even his character.

DeSantis, in turn, has launched a counter-offensive by creating his own super PAC called Never Back Down, which has begun airing paid ads to combat Trump’s accusations.

Trump is taking a new strategic approach in Iowa this year, having been criticized in the past for his lack of ground-level organizing efforts during his 2016 campaign. He has been holding rallies to identify caucus supporters and volunteers, with a recent one taking place in Des Moines.

Meanwhile, DeSantis is also trying to secure his position by hiring Iowa staff to begin organizing support for him ahead of his anticipated White House bid. His super PAC has named Iowa Republican operatives to its roster, including Ryan Koopmans, former chief of staff to Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

Iowa is seen as a critical battleground for presidential hopefuls, largely due to the fact that the caucuses have historically served as a bellwether for a candidate’s national prospects. In 2016, Trump’s Iowa campaign was widely regarded as poorly managed, with some 10,000 Iowans left unprocessed ahead of the caucuses.

This time around, Trump’s team is drawing on data from not only his 2016 campaign but also from two national campaigns to develop a robust digital engagement strategy they believe will give him an edge in the caucuses. Winning Iowa is seen as essential for Trump, who carried the state handily in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

As both Trump and DeSantis up the ante in Iowa, the race promises to be fiercely contested. Winning the caucuses and securing a prominent position as a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination is crucial for both candidates.

Failure to do so would present other GOP hopefuls with an opportunity to launch their own campaigns and challenge the status quo.

    • My thoughts exactly plus that Ron DeSantis lacks experience other than Florida where he is mostly loved and supported. Trump has had plenty of experience with enemy states (i.e. blue states).

  • Trump and DeSantis should stop attacking each other and get together. Trump deserves his 2nd term and if he had DeSantis as VP then DeSantis could easily follow Trump in 2028 and as VP he would get a lot of experience to be prepared. Come on you two and make it happen for the good of our country. The two of you fighting is not good for our country. DeSantis needs to be VP before becoming president to get the experience needed. Being governor is not the same as being president. It is in their hands to get it done but if they prefer to keep attacking each other then neither of them will win.

  • I will voted for Trump in the past and would love to do the same again, but he must quit calling people names ie sleepy joe etc, if he would only keep his mouth shut,, more people would vote for him Donald Trump that is part of the reason you lost to Biden..

  • One thing the GOP has been very proficient at is fighting each other and the democrats love it. Why you say, because it brings up issues that they have no knowledge of and never would if they didn’t fight each other.

  • Go Trump for four more and then DeSantis for the following eight years! What is so difficult for the GOP to understand.

  • I DON’T CARE what the biblically abhorrent “Baal priests & priestesses” do to each other! In fact, praise God they’re devouring one another:

“But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.” (Galatians 5:15)

The sooner they devour one another the better and the sooner, Lord willing, we’ll be able to erect a biblical government upon the inevitable ruins of the Constitutional Republic:

“The United States Constitutional Republic was destined to fall from its inception. This is borne out in the following two passages:

‘And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.’ (Matthew 7:26-27)

‘[E]very kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.; (Matthew 12:25)

“The house known as the Constitutional Republic was not built upon the rock of Yahweh’s1 word, but instead upon Enlightenment and Masonic concepts.2 It began and continues as a divided house….

“The day is therefore approaching when the Republic’s cup of iniquity will be full3 and Yahweh’s longsuffering is exhausted. At that time, the Republic will be subjected to His judgment. Like all nations before her built on sand, she will cease to exist. The question that remains is whether that generation’s Christians will be prepared to build upon her ruins. If not, another ungodly nation will fill the void until finally a future generation of our posterity are prepared to erect a government and society upon Yahweh’s righteousness as expressed in His triune moral law (His commandments, statutes, and judgments).4

“It is therefore incumbent upon this and all intervening generations of Christians to do everything in their power to help prepare for that future generation of Christians to do it right(eous) the next time….”
