It’s good to see that a little bit of justice has been served in the case of the Georgia moms who were barred from exposing sexually explicit material in their children’s school library. The school district has been ordered to pay $100,000 in legal fees as a result of its censorship efforts.

The self-dubbed Mama Bears filed a federal lawsuit alleging that by not being allowed to read explicit material aloud at school board meetings, they were being denied their First Amendment rights.

The school district argued that the books in question were not age-appropriate and should not be read aloud in front of children.

However, this argument falls flat when one considers that these books were already available in the school library for children to check out and read on their own. If they are deemed inappropriate for parents to read aloud, why are they appropriate for children to read on their own?

This case also highlights the growing trend of book banning and censorship in schools across America. Moms for Liberty, which claims to have over 100,000 members across 38 states, says removing titles from school libraries and classrooms has reached an all-time high. This is a concerning trend as it limits students’ access to diverse perspectives and ideas.

Some books should never be permitted in the first place. But woke liberals shouldn’t be allowed to ban other perfectly reasonable and age appropriate books.

It’s important for parents to be involved in their children’s education and have a say in what materials are available in schools. However, censorship is not the answer.

Instead, parents should work with educators and administrators to ensure that age-appropriate materials are available and that controversial topics are presented in an appropriate manner.

As conservatives, we believe in limited government intervention and individual freedoms. Censorship goes against these principles and sets a dangerous precedent for future generations.

Personally, I believe that homeschooling your children is the best way to go.

  • Banning pornography and banning books are two totally different issues. I know the Democrats have made it one and the same issue but it is NOT.

  • “The school district argued that the books in question were not age-appropriate and should not be read aloud in front of children.”

So, did the school district or the school board EVER look into how these “not age-appropriate” books got into their libraries? Did they ever hold ANYBODY ACCOUNTABLE? Did they take any action to remove all these “not age-appropriate” materials from their libraries and classrooms? Did they make changes to insure that pornographic and “not age-appropriate” material can never get into the schools in the future?

If they didn’t do ALL the above, then they ALL should be fired or removed from ever working with children again. They should get the same treatment as pedophiles.

  • In the event of everything that is going on in the public schools now a days with the “woke” agenda, I would pull my children out of public schools and send them to private schools where real teaching, not indoctrination, is taking place. PARENTS keep fighting for your children’s future!

  • I think it’s great theses moms are so involved in the politics of the time! Congratulations on your WIN! My only problem is that the $100,000 they’ve won, is your own tax dollars!!! These are not ramifications against the actual people forcing this down your throat! Sue the individuals on the board and get them all fired. As long as they’re still on the board, how much other “WOKE” aspects will your children be exposed to that you’re not aware of!?!?!

  • I took my daughter “OUT” of Public school for doing what they did in PUBLIC schools! I was NOT going to subject my daughter to perverse and diverse perversions that they, the Public Schools deemed ok to read or heed etc! That was an Immediate w/drawal from the Public schools and she did fine!

  • Stop calling them liberals, or Democrats.
They are Communists, even the ones who are too stupid to realise it.

  • How about we Ban the work from home trolls on here like π€π¦πžπ«π’πœπšπ§π₯π’π›πžπ«ππ²πŸ‘.𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐜𝐒𝐭𝐒𝐞𝐬.𝐨𝐫𝐠 … Nobody wants to hear your BS … Stop!! Good GOD give it a break you fking retards !!!

  • “school district ordered to pay” means that tax money will be used when the board members should pay that money out of their pockets!!!!! They don’t care if public funds are used because they don’t suffer for their evil deeds when taxpayers pay for private illegal activity!!!!!!!!!

  • Daniel, not every parent is qualified to home-school their kids, never mind being able to afford it. Many can, however, opt for a charter or private school that better meets their children’s needs. That said, my DIL is homeschooling our grandson, so far, with remarkable success. She’s actively pursuing socialization activities, and he may soon be joined by his cousin. Both are about 2 1/2 years old.

  • Regardless of your position on this topic (I agree with the Mama Bears.) this should not be considered “book banning”. I haven’t heard anyone say these books shouldn’t be allowed anywhere. All these people want to do is to prevent the school system from allowing age-inappropriate books in the schools. If an adult wants to purchase the books, he may do so.
