The dedicated men and women of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tirelessly work to protect American citizens from the threats posed by illegal alien criminals. Their mission, however, is increasingly challenging due to sanctuary city policies prevalent in blue states, led by leftist politicians. These policies often obstruct ICE’s ability to detain and deport individuals who pose a danger to the public.
A recent incident in Rhode Island underscores this issue. The Portsmouth Police Department ignored an ICE detainer request for a criminal illegal alien, an alleged pedophile, choosing instead to release him back into the community. This decision sparked criticism after the individual, Josue Santiago Perez-Gomez, was arrested for felony sex crimes involving a child.
Thanks to the swift actions of ICE, Perez-Gomez was apprehended the same day he was released by local authorities. Originally from Guatemala, he had entered the United States illegally, evading capture as a “gotaway” with no clear record of his entry. This case highlights the difficulties ICE faces in tracking and detaining such individuals.
Patricia Hyde, director of the ICE field office in Boston, expressed her disapproval of the Portsmouth Police Department’s decision to release Perez-Gomez. She praised the relentless efforts of ICE officers who managed to locate and arrest him promptly. Hyde’s statement to Fox News underscored the importance of cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.
Bill Melugin of Fox News reported on this incident, emphasizing the dangers posed when local police departments fail to collaborate with ICE. The release of dangerous individuals back into communities is a consequence of sanctuary policies that prioritize political ideology over public safety. Such actions undermine the tireless work of ICE agents.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem also weighed in on the matter, highlighting a concerning trend. She revealed a staggering 1000 percent increase in assaults on ICE agents engaged in the arrest of criminal illegal aliens. Noem attributed this alarming rise in violence to the inflammatory rhetoric of sanctuary state politicians.
According to Secretary Noem, the language used by sanctuary politicians vilifies law enforcement and fuels hostility against ICE agents. These dedicated officers put their lives on the line daily to apprehend some of the most dangerous criminals in the country. The increase in assaults is a direct consequence of the divisive political climate.
In a post on X, Noem reiterated the dangers ICE agents face due to these sanctuary policies. She emphasized the need for political leaders to support law enforcement rather than undermine their efforts. The safety of American communities depends on a united front against criminal illegal aliens.
The situation demonstrates the critical role ICE plays in maintaining public safety. Despite the challenges posed by sanctuary city policies, ICE remains committed to its mission of enforcing immigration laws and protecting citizens. The agency’s dedication is evident in its swift response to incidents like the one in Rhode Island.
Conservative news outlets such as Fox News, the New York Post, and Newsmax have consistently reported on the negative impact of sanctuary policies. These policies, they argue, prioritize political correctness over the safety and well-being of American citizens. The recent events in Rhode Island are a case in point.
ICE’s ability to operate effectively is hindered when local law enforcement fails to cooperate. The release of dangerous individuals like Perez-Gomez into communities is a direct result of such failures. It is imperative that local and federal authorities work together to ensure public safety.
The increase in assaults on ICE agents is a troubling development that cannot be ignored. Secretary Noem’s call for support from political leaders is a reminder of the need for unity in addressing illegal immigration. The safety of American communities should be a bipartisan priority.
The dedication of ICE officers in the face of adversity is commendable. Their efforts to apprehend dangerous criminals are hampered by political decisions that prioritize ideology over safety. The recent events in Rhode Island serve as a stark reminder of the challenges they face.
The rhetoric of sanctuary state politicians has real-world consequences. It emboldens those who seek to harm ICE agents and undermines the rule of law. The increase in violence against ICE officers is a direct result of this divisive language.
As ICE continues to face these challenges, the need for cooperation between local and federal authorities becomes increasingly urgent. The safety of American citizens should always be the top priority, transcending political differences. The work of ICE is vital to achieving this goal.
In conclusion, the actions of sanctuary cities and states pose significant obstacles to the work of ICE. The agency remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting American communities despite these challenges. The events in Rhode Island highlight the critical need for a united approach to immigration enforcement.

Forget deportation or incarceration. Off with the pedophiles head.
Anyone who thinks cutting off the heads of pedophiles is cruel, should have to face the children who were raped.

Those in that police dept who had any part of this “release” need to be immediately terminated, without pay or benefits, including cancelling any pension or retirement, then charge them all with whatever crimes are appropriate and prosecute them to the full extent of the law. It is WRONG for the police to ignore any warrant from any jurisdiction and to allow the criminal to escape. Hold this Police Dept fully responsible and any politicians that control the local police, such as the Mayor and Council. Shame on them – not only is this criminal a pedophile but he is not in America legally and must be removed from all society until his criminal trial and sentencing, then deported and never allowed to return to America for any reason.
