In 2018, Greta Thunberg made a bold prediction: that by 2023, the world would be facing an irreversible disaster due to climate change.
Fast forward to today and her prediction has been proven false. She even tweeted about it, but now, Greta quietly deleted the tweet she made back then. Why do you think that is?
For those of you who may not actually know who Greta Thunberg is, she’s a Swedish environmental activist who rose to fame in 2018 when she began protesting outside of the Swedish Parliament.
She quickly became a leader of the youth climate movement and was even nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2019. Her activism has led her all over the world, speaking at events such as the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York City and Davos Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Her original tweet from 2018 read: “We have less than 10 years left to prevent an irreversible disaster.”
This statement sparked fear among many people around the world who were already concerned about climate change and its effects on our planet.
However, it appears that Greta’s prediction was too pessimistic; here we are now in 2023 with no signs of an impending disaster.
Despite this, Greta still remains an important figure in the fight against climate change and continues to advocate for more action from governments and corporations alike.
She recently spoke out against a decision by the United Nations to let an oil executive chair climate talks, calling it “ridiculous” and saying that lobbyists should not be allowed to influence policy decisions on such an important issue.
It is clear that Greta Thunberg’s original prediction of irreversible disaster by 2023 has been proven false. Just another false doomsday prediction to add to the ever-growing list.

I must’ve missed that heat killer, & the the ice age from back in the ’60s & ’70s, although I’m at a loss as to how I could have not noticed such cataclysms… I certainly noticed the cold of CO winters, hardly an ice age, & the heat of AZ desert summers, again not “killer”, obviously, as I’m still here… Bottom line: I rely on the weather science I learned before the hysteria took hold, & ignore the histrionics. After watching and listening to many people talk about climate change, I am reminded of my early education and the changes that the early earth has seen. It has been changing slowly in both heating up and cooling down. In general terms, it has been a warming earth until some cataclysmic event changes the amount of sunlight the planet receives. It could be an asteroid or a volcano or a nuclear exchange between countries. We (humans), as far as the best science has been able to observe, have not been responsible in a significant way. Yes, there are some indicators that we could have been responsible for, but, it is not a given that humanity is responsible for climate change. If you disagree, then you must have some facts that you can point to that support your claim. A 1.8 degree rise in temperature over the last 100 years is not enough to say that humans caused it.
Sadly, public schools around the world produce radicalized stupid kids.

It is a conglomerate of unscrupulous scientists fighting for research grants, politicians dolling out such grants in a hope some money will stick to their own hands, and mass media fighting for attraction of general public members ready to pay for the scary stories. Does anybody remember the horror stories of what is going to happen to the human population when the Greenland ice sheet, the size of two Manhattans, breaks out? Well, a few years later, it broke out and… total, deafening silence (in the mass media press) – nothing terrible happened, no sea level rise, no tsunami, no flooding of coastal cities.
