During the heavy-handed enforcement of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), a peculiar trend emerged.
While a few hundred medical exemptions were granted, nearly 2,000 religious exemptions were left unaddressed. This discrepancy has sparked concerns and questions about fairness and religious freedom within the agency.
Sonny Fleeman, a combat veteran and federal whistleblower, once viewed his position at the VA as an extension of his military service. He saw his role as a way to secure vital benefits for fellow veterans. However, upon realizing that VA employees were being targeted for their religious beliefs, he began to question his role and the integrity of the institution.
Fleeman, armed with data from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, revealed that the VA processed medical exemptions for the vaccine mandate while stalling on religious ones.
He believes this strategy was orchestrated by VA leadership to bypass Title VII and enforce compliance. “I’m fighting an agency that’s betraying the freedoms I defended,” Fleeman told The Gateway Pundit.
His own religious exemption request turned into a year-long struggle, met with silence and inaction. Fleeman was forced to file a medical accommodation request just to get his religious exemption processed. “I knew it wasn’t right, so I fought it from day one,” he admitted, describing the personal toll as “searing.”
Fleeman expressed deep frustration over the moral injury inflicted by watching leaders knowingly uphold unjust orders. He witnessed managers betraying their principles, refusing to challenge the directives from above. This experience left him uneasy and questioning the agency’s commitment to justice and fairness.
Through multiple FOIA requests, Fleeman uncovered what he describes as “a broader betrayal.” The data showed that while the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) processed no religious exemption requests out of 1,983, it approved 206 out of 845 medical ones. The VA had set a hard deadline for vaccination compliance, yet no religious exemptions were considered before the deadline.
He pointed out the swift approval of 153 medical exemptions during the same period, suggesting that the process could be expedited when it suited the agency.
“Thousands were forced to pick between their beliefs and their jobs,” he stated, arguing that this disparity violates Title VII’s protections against religious discrimination.
To date, the Department of Veterans Affairs has faced no formal accountability for these actions. There have been no legal judgments, no congressional reprimands, and no policy reforms to address this apparent violation of religious liberty. The victims of this oversight remain without redress or resolution.
“The FOIA data I retrieved proves that discrimination is occurring beyond any doubt,” Fleeman noted. He argued that the VBA’s zero granted religious exemptions could constitute a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 241. “How deep does this go? The FOIA data screams for accountability,” he insisted.
Fleeman, a veteran who once fought for his country, now finds himself fighting for religious rights within the VA. He hopes his efforts will prompt Congress to investigate this matter and ensure accountability. His determination to see justice served remains unwavering.
Fleeman emphasized that his views are personal and do not reflect the official policies or positions of the Department of Veterans Affairs or any other organization. And a thief you can prevent from thieving from you again by locking him out or keeping the valuables very secure but one who lies too you many times especially in critical matters, how can you ever trust or know that liar isn’t lying again; can’t be done, because anyone can tell a lie again and fool many people!
Trust must be earned and the “public trust” was ruined or “even destroyed” by all of the “deep dark deception” by so many in our government and media! That’s just how it works, and to me “they are all shit on a stick!” So many of them actually belong in prison but are any being sentenced to long terms in prison cells, no they are not, so what does that say on its face! “The powerful are all liars and playing a game and they don’t care what we the peons think,” and “they will just keep the status-quo in place” which works fine for them, they can keep being “crooked and evil!”
Why would anyone with a brain who can think sensibly think otherwise, “when this same government flooded our nation with well over 15 million UN-vetted Illegals” over just the last 4 years, many of them “carriers of highly contagious diseases” say like the strain of TB which is not curable and causes a slow suffering death; “XDR-TB, which is impervious to first-, second-, and third-line drugs—virtually all the antibiotics!” It’s being spread virtually anywhere and everywhere people live in America! That’s even of exponentially greater concern for us than Ebola right now which just made the headlines showing up in NYC, and we don’t live in the Congo! I don’t want to scare people, but there are also many other deadly things being introduced into the American population from say Central America due to what this government and powerful oligarchs have done to us and this nation; and we should trust them? NEVER! It’s Trust Earning Time in America!

I had 2 uncles and one aunt who were elderly and being in aged homes at the time took the jabs, and all passed within a few weeks of each other! I didn’t know soon enough what had transpired, but I sure would have wanted to add my voice to those closest to them at the time if I had been up to speed on it!
