Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Democrat, said Tuesday that polling showing Democratic candidates ahead in several competitive Senate races is “fake,” arguing it is meant to discourage Republican voters from turning out rather than to accurately measure public opinion.

“Don’t believe the polls. There will be no blue wave. Once again, fake polling, designed, not to inform but to persuade & suppress turnout, are misleading voters,” Blagojevich wrote in a post on X. “I know what I’m talking about. As a twice elected Dem governor and 3 time elected Dem Congressman, I never lost an election.”

Blagojevich predicted Republican wins in four closely watched Senate races ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

“Trust the people. They won’t be fooled. Collins wins in Maine, Texas & Kansas stay Republican, & El-Sayed loses in Michigan,” he said.

In Maine, Sen. Susan Collins (R) faces Democratic state Sen. Troy Jackson. RealClear Polling rates the race a toss-up, with its average of recent polls showing Jackson ahead of Collins by 0.7 points.

In Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is running against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico for an open Senate seat. RealClear Polling’s average shows Talarico leading by 3.1 points.

In Kansas, Sen. Roger Marshall (R), who is seeking a second term, faces Democrat Adam Hamilton, a Methodist minister. Kansas has not elected a Democratic senator since 1932.

In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed, a Democrat, is running against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R), who served seven terms representing a mid-Michigan district and previously worked in cybersecurity, the Army and the FBI investigating organized crime. RealClear Polling’s average shows El-Sayed leading Rogers by 3.6 points, within the margin of error.
