A Bradford County woman has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after police say she fatally stabbed her husband and their 3-year-old son inside a Poconos resort room, then called 911 to ask for help ending her own life.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, was booked Tuesday, a day after the stabbings at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, according to a statement from investigators. Authorities say she stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son, Tristan, in the chest.

According to a criminal complaint, Harrison called 911 shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday asking where to find the right vein in her neck so she could kill herself. She reportedly told the dispatcher she was “too weak to stab my neck,” that her knives were “not working,” and that she needed “help dying.”

“My husband and son are already gone in the bed… They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” she allegedly told the 911 operator when asked if she was alone.

Police arriving at the scene found Harrison with cuts to her wrists and neck and took her to a hospital for treatment. Her husband had multiple stab wounds to the chest; their son had a single stab wound to the chest. A large butcher knife and a smaller knife were recovered in the bathroom, along with suspected containers of blood and various medications, the complaint states.

On Wednesday, investigators searched the family’s home in Towanda, in Bradford County, roughly two hours north of the resort. According to the search warrant application, reviewed by ABC News, police were looking for evidence that could explain a motive and tie the knife used at the crime scene to other items in the home.

The application notes that “it is common for individuals in these scenarios to document their homicidal and suicidal ideation’s via hand writings or electronics prior to, during and after the act has taken place.”

Court filings show investigators seized nearly a dozen knives from the home, along with a safe, a journal, a financial notebook, a laptop and other items.

Records indicate the family checked into the Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21 and extended their stay on Oct. 5. Investigators say Harrison allegedly drained her husband’s 401(k) to pay for the extended trip.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish a motive for the killings.
