Emily Compagno signed off from Fox News’ “Outnumbered” on Friday after nearly six years on the daytime program, moving to a permanent seat on “The Five” starting Tuesday, September 8.

Compagno used her final broadcast to thank viewers and colleagues. “And now everyone watching, after almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” she said.

She also credited the production team behind the show. “And to the incredible crew on this stage, my executive producer Trina Thompson, and to our entire ‘Outnumbered’ team, whose dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent are the reason for this show’s excellence day in and day out,” Compagno said. “It has been an extraordinary privilege and an honor to serve as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered.'”

Fox News confirmed Friday that Compagno had formally left the show. Jeanine Pirro, a former Fox News host now with the Justice Department, congratulated her on social media, writing, “Congratulations Emily Compagno on becoming the new co-host of The Five. You will be fantastic!”

Compagno will join Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters at the table, with Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov continuing to rotate through the show’s liberal seat.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott first announced the move on August 24, describing Compagno as a “highly accomplished host” whose “energy and talent have made her a standout across FOX News Media.” Scott added, “Fifteen years later, ‘The Five’ remains a powerhouse and appointment viewing for millions of Americans. We are thrilled to officially welcome her to the show.”

At the time of the announcement, Compagno said she was honored to take a permanent seat on a program she had often guest-hosted. “I couldn’t be more honored to join ‘The Five,’ a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years,” she said. “Having an official seat at the table on what I truly believe is the most fun show on television is an incredible privilege. I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”

Compagno later said on Kennedy’s Fox News Radio podcast that she “burst into tears” when she learned she had gotten the job.

“The Five” is one of the most-watched programs in cable news, averaging 3.6 million viewers in the second quarter of 2026, including 322,000 viewers in the 25-to-54 demographic that advertisers prize most. Fox News says that marked the show’s 19th consecutive quarter as cable news’ highest-rated program.

Compagno joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018 and became a permanent “Outnumbered” co-host in January 2021. Before her television career, she worked as a federal managing attorney and acting director at the Social Security Administration. She was also a captain of the Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad and served as an NFL ambassador overseas.

Her exit leaves a vacancy in the noon hour. Fox News says it will rotate network personalities through Compagno’s former
