Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky mocked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) over pick for chairperson of the Transportation Committee, 84-year-old  Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-District of Colombia). He posted a video of her trying to park a car on his website and it was comical, to say the least. She hit the car next to hers several times, she then parked askew blocking the car she had hit. She didn’t even leave a note for the driver of the car she hit.

This was the second time Massie showed this video. Norton had tried to embarrass him over opposing the vaccine mandate in WashingtonD.C.. She offered to buy sandwiches for any of his staffers who were embarrassed by his stance.

Massie joked:

“We appreciate the offer @EleanorNorton. Just please promise you won’t drive to get the sandwiches.”

The video has been a big hit. it had received more than 8,300 likes and 3,600 retweets.

“@SpeakerPelosi is seriously considering this person to serve as the chairwoman of the Transportation Committee,” tweeted Massie.

“Folks, I’m not making this up,” he added with a second tweet with a link about Norton being considered by Pelosi to serve as the chairwoman of the Transportation Committee.

From The Blaze

Norton was first elected to Congress in 1991 and is 84 years old. She made headlines in July 2020 when she said she would fight any effort by the then-Washington Redskins to relocate to Washington D.C. while they retained their old name which many considered racist.

“I call on Dan Snyder once again to face that reality, since he does still desperately want to be in the nation’s capital,” Norton said at the time. “He has got a problem he can’t get around — and he particularly can’t get around it today, after the George Floyd killing.”

The team later changed its name to the Washington Football Team.

This reminds me of the time I was standing outside when one of my sisters drove up the driveway. She jumped the curb and bounced off the great sugar maple in the front yard and ran over the pump that carried water from the well to the cistern. She bounced her car off the silver maple in the backyard, hit the back porch supports, and then tragedy struck. She lost control of the car.
