A federal judge has put a temporary block on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing sensitive payment records within the Treasury Department. Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly clearly stated that Treasury officials are prohibited from sharing any payment records maintained within the Bureau of Fiscal Service. This decision follows a lawsuit from government employee unions challenging the access to these private records.
The unions argued that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent overstepped his authority by granting Elon Musk’s team access to sensitive information. They claimed this move risked exposing personal financial details to unauthorized individuals. In response, the Justice Department agreed to a court order limiting access to two special government employees within DOGE, who will have read-only access.
NBC News reported that Justice Department attorneys have agreed to restrict Elon Musk’s department from accessing the Treasury’s payment system. This restriction is temporary and comes after union members and retirees filed a lawsuit against the Treasury Department. They argued that providing DOGE access to the system violated federal privacy laws due to the personal data it contains.
The court order specifies that two Treasury employees, Tom Krause and Marko Elez, are allowed access to the records as needed for their duties. However, their access will remain strictly read-only. This development is part of a broader concern about who can view and utilize sensitive financial information within the government.
Jim Hoft previously highlighted that DOGE discovered concerning practices within the Treasury Department. They found that payment approval officers were instructed to approve payments indiscriminately, even to fraudulent or terrorist groups. Shockingly, there had been no denials of payments throughout their careers.
In light of these revelations, David Lebryk, a long-standing top official at the U.S. Treasury Department, announced his resignation. His departure coincided with the uncovering of these troubling practices by Elon Musk and the DOGE team. The announcement has added another layer to the ongoing scrutiny of the Treasury’s operations.
The situation has raised questions about accountability within the Treasury Department. These revelations have sparked discussions about the safeguards in place to prevent misuse of federal funds. The resignation of a high-ranking official signals the serious implications of these findings.
The Treasury Department is now under pressure to review its procedures and ensure that funds are used appropriately. The involvement of Elon Musk and his team has brought significant attention to the issue. As the investigation continues, there is widespread interest in how the department will address these concerns.
Government officials and watchdog groups are closely monitoring the developments. There is a growing demand for transparency and accountability to restore public trust. The case underscores the need for strict oversight in handling sensitive financial information.
The public is awaiting further details on how the Treasury plans to rectify these issues. The resignation of a senior official has only heightened the sense of urgency. Ensuring that funds are not misused is a priority for both the department and the public.
The ongoing investigation will likely reveal more about the internal workings of the Treasury Department. As new information comes to light, the implications for federal financial management are significant. The public will be watching closely for any updates or changes in policy.
This situation highlights the challenges of balancing efficiency and security within government operations. The involvement of high-profile figures like Elon Musk has brought the issue to the forefront. As the story develops, it is clear that the outcome will have lasting impacts.
While the case continues to unfold, there is a call for increased scrutiny of government departments. The role of private individuals in public sector operations is also under examination. The outcome of this case could set a precedent for future government-private sector collaborations.
The court’s decision to limit access reflects a cautious approach to handling sensitive information. It serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting personal data within government systems. The resolution of this case will likely influence future policies regarding access to such information.

Let us think if we can stand it about all of the Taxpayer funds tossed away in craziness like the Adam Schiff (imaginary whistleblower) Impeachments and what a dragged out waste of time and money they were on top of being a travesty of justice!
The “Russian Collusion” based on Killery’s Fusion GPS Connection with the Christopher Steele Dossier Sham which by conservative estimates via Mueller’s prosecution of the case ran up at least 32 $Million price tag for “we the people” and from there all of the additional “Partisan Shams” carried out throwing American Taxpayer money away on absolutely NOTHING! (I smell kickbacks galore)
Especially during the criminal cabal admin of Biden/Harris.
Say like >grants to Pakistan to study gender issues, The Biden administration just in 2023 had given nearly $4.6 million to help such foreign groups promote LGBT projects like drag shows and pride parades.I predict the day our country’s finances collapse, we will still be funding “gender programs in Pakistan.” Tonight’s COVID relief/stimulus bill has no less than $10 million for said programs attached to it.<
Swindlers everywhere that is the new sport or major American pastime!
The bigger problem is the hidden master puppeteers like those in the Freemasons and Illuminati that control so much of what is happening and what is said and not said! Global Satan plan.
you are correct … evil doing democrats .
Yes sadly so true Rose!
Well I do pray and I hope our prayers will be making the difference that we expect.
Amen.
Federal privacy laws are designed to protect federal crimes.
And that they do!
Why were/are we paying for payment approval officers when nothing is ever denied?
“payment approval officers were instructed to approve payments indiscriminately, even to fraudulent or terrorist groups. Shockingly, there had been no denials of payments throughout their careers.”
Robyn L Hamlin; yes and like I say this is one crazy very insane situation our Nation is in now and I never had any idea it was or would get this bad; I like many always assumed the best of those in power! Once someone said that is because you’re an honest person and you expect that most other people will see and feel as you do, but they do not! I even saw that idea played out in an old classic TV show episode recently “Father Knows Best.” I think too many of us had those “rose colored glasses” on and maybe worse never took them off to get a clear and real genuine view! But the master planners behind the scenes have been always many steps ahead of us and planning how to control us! So it stands to reason we would stumble and even get confused, and I feel bad about that and yet still I say” it’s never too late there is always hope” or how does it go, “it’s not over till the fat lady sings,” so I like that attitude!
Let’s hang tough, or in there, whichever you prefer!
God bless you and yours.
