Sen. John Kennedy tore into Tim Walz and anti-ICE agitators on national TV, calling out violent interference with law enforcement, pointing fingers at Democratic leaders for encouraging the chaos, and urging Congress to act on sanctuary cities to restore order and enforce the law.

For weeks, anti-ICE activists have pushed protests past the line into confrontations with federal agents. What happened in Los Angeles, with objects thrown at officers and chaotic scenes unfolding, looked less like a peaceful demonstration and more like a coordinated attempt to obstruct law enforcement. That kind of behavior creates real danger for officers and bystanders, and it undermines the rule of law.

Democratic figures, including senior members of their party, have not adequately condemned those actions and in some cases have been present at these events. Their rhetoric has, intentionally or not, energized activists who feel justified in obstructing enforcement. When leaders fail to call out violence or misrepresent what happened, it erodes public trust and inflames tensions even further.

On the air, Sen. John Kennedy used his characteristic blunt humor to make his point. He told viewers that Governor Tim Walz had developed a pattern of saying one thing and meaning another, and he minced no words in casting doubt on Walz’s credibility. Kennedy’s one-liners landed hard and got a big reaction from the host and audience, because they cut to the core of the political theater around this issue.

Kennedy went beyond jokes to raise a straightforward legal question: if “nobody is above the law,” then why are people in the country illegally treated differently? That line asks a simple, direct thing of lawmakers — either the law applies or it does not. For many voters, enforcing immigration laws is about fairness and safety, not partisan posturing.

He also condemned those who physically block or harass federal agents during operations, calling such interference “deep dish stupid.” That phrase captured the mix of disbelief and frustration many feel when activists place themselves between law enforcement and subjects of lawful action. The danger is real: people can get hurt, and officers can be put in impossible situations because of deliberate obstruction.

Kennedy didn’t stop at criticism; he pointed to a concrete legislative step. He urged Senate leadership to bring a bill forward to eliminate sanctuary cities, arguing that removing these protections would prevent many of the incidents that lead to dangerous confrontations. The logic is direct: if local jurisdictions cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, operations can proceed more smoothly and safely.

The senator framed the debate as a choice about priorities — whether officials put citizens first or place political sympathies above public safety. He argued that too often Democrats choose the latter, shielding those in the country illegally while neglecting victims and the broader community. That framing resonated with many who feel the system currently rewards disorder instead of accountability.

Beyond rhetoric, Kennedy emphasized the human cost of lax enforcement and political posturing. He noted that people have been hurt and even killed in situations linked to failures in immigration policy and law enforcement cooperation. That reality, he said, should move lawmakers to act instead of offering excuses or theatrical condemnations.

His appearance on Sean Hannity’s show combined sharp criticism with a call for legislative action, and it amplified the demand for Republicans to press the issue. Kennedy’s mix of humor and bluntness is intended to break through the noise and focus on concrete outcomes: safer streets, consistent enforcement, and accountability from elected officials.

  • [Sen John Kennedy Scorches Tim Walz, Defends ICE And Rule]

It’s actually quite SIMPLE! From the beginning of these United States of America there has been an application process for foreigners or persons who are citizens of other countries to apply for citizenship here in America or in other words request that they be allowed to enter America with the intention of becoming an American Citizen! That means that all the power as to who can be allowed to become a citizen here is up to the government via that legitimate immigration process or procedure so as to allow the government to require a vetting of said individuals to properly determine if it is in the best interest of these United States of America and its Citizenry to allow or not allow a particular person applying for citizenship! The government has this process in place to make certain that a person from another country would be beneficial to allow said person to become a bona fide permanent American Citizen, and that said person has full intention and the capacity of truly assimilating into American culture and accepting or pledging allegiance to fulfill all obligations as such while abiding to all of it’s foundational tenets and laws of the land! In other words would this individual be a compatible match with the American way of life and fit into its historical as well as cultural value system and not be a burden or act contrary in any way to it!

All the Illegals have started out breaking the Laws of the Land, as well as ignored this absolutely necessary and mandatory process of Legal Immigration and why it was put in place to begin with, so they already start off being a bad match and by default prove themselves ineligible!

For me I see it as a very critical thing when “respect and appreciation” are also paramount qualities that must be “exemplified and possessed” by any foreigners that are looking to become a part of the American Citizenry! So many of these people here now Illegally have proven the actual opposite to be true about themselves, and to me have proven they’re undesirables and for sure I wouldn’t want them in my house to visit, let alone be a permanent part of my country illegally; this is common sense! This behavior is Very disrespectful and as we have found many of them are even quite dangerous individuals!

Too many politicians and officials have ignored most if not all of this crisis for years having a quite flippant attitude about it; and they even worry me as much or actually more than some of the foreign criminals that are now here illegally; by their reckless thinking and behavior in these matters, which they know full well are clearly spelled out in the U.S. Constitution for good reason! So this is dereliction of their sworn duty and oaths of office!
