The Democrats are in shambles politically, as evidenced by the Florida House of Representatives voting to eliminate Disney’s special tax status, which the company has enjoyed for 55 years.

People had wanted to get rid of Disney’s special district for years, according to State Rep. Randy Fine, and then they “kicked the hornet’s nest.”

“People wanted to deal with the special district for decades,” he said. “Disney had the political power to prevent it for decades. What changed is bringing California values to Florida. Floridians said, ‘You are a guest. Maybe you don’t deserve the special privileges anymore.’”

The law passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 70-38, and it wasn’t stated whether it passed along party lines, implying that Democrats voted in favor.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is anticipated to sign the bill into law, which will disband five special districts on June 1, 2023.

This means that counties will be able to collect taxes on the Reedy Creek district’s and other districts’ revenue for the first time.

Conversely, Universal Studios, a Disney competitor, has partnered with Orange County to enhance the streets surrounding their park, paying $160 million to maintain the road.

Democrats, presumably those on the payroll of Disney’s 38 full-time lobbyists, began to scream and lament when the bill passed.

The feud between Florida and Disney began when the latter fought a parental rights bill and began spreading left-wing conspiracy theories.

Abigal Disney said during a CNN segment, “Whether or not there are gay characters and I keep wondering what is their theory of change exactly because if you were to erase every reference to gayness and gay people from the planet, which is sort of what the don’t say gay bill feels like, will children not become gay? Do they need to be recruited and groomed or are people just gay? And I think that that’s a hard question they need to ask themselves because if you go back through history there have been gay people whether or not the word was ever spoken. So this is kind of a — it’s an ineffective way of going about what they want. It’s an attempt to push history backwards and it denies the fact that everyone conservative or not has a gay friend or a transgender family member. We’re all in it together now and I think it’s all of our fight.”

They’re going to feel it, and based on their reaction, they didn’t see it coming.

There will almost certainly be concessions and lawyers will be engaged in the end, but the harm has already been done. Just look at their stock and how it has fallen lately, just like Netflix.

Get woke, go broke.
