Cori Bush could possibly be one of the most tone-deaf, dim-witted leftists around — and that’s saying a lot.

The Missouri congresswoman is known for obsessively pushing to defund the police so the money can be re-allocated to social programs.

A CBS News host recently asked Bush why, if she thinks police do more harm than good, and if tax dollars could be better spent elsewhere, she has spent over $70,000 on private security.

“You faced some criticism in recent weeks over your push to defund the police,” a CBS News host said to Bush. “Campaign records show that you spent roughly $70,000 on private security, and some critics say that move is hypocritical. What’s your response to those critics?”

The Democrat responded that she has too much important work to do to put herself at risk. Too many people are counting on Cori Bush, and the stakes are just too high. In the same breath, she defends her spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on police security, then calls to defund them.

“I’m going to make sure I have security because I know I have had attempts on my life and I have too much work to do,” Bush said. “There are too many people that need help right now for me to allow that. So, if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend $10 more dollars on it, you know what, I get to be here to do the work.”

“So, suck it up and defunding the police has to happen. We need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets.”

While Cori Bush clearly thinks the rest of us are less essential, the families and friends of those hurt or killed in crime-ridden Democrat-run cities probably feel differently. While Antifa and BLM were responsible — though not held accountable — for burning, looting, and committing acts of violence over the last two years, their victims lacked the protection available to Bush.

Those in de-funded cities will suffer even more as they experience slower emergency response times. Luckily for AOC, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Cori Bush, their private security teams will keep them safe. As for the rest of us, Bush says we just need to “suck it up” if we dare criticize this blatant form of inequality.
