Senate Republicans are running full steam ahead with the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.  Monday will be the start of the coming high-stakes hearings over her nomination.

The hearings are set to start Monday at 9 am ET and run until Thursday.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will preside over the Capitol Hill hearing in person, however, every senator on the committee will have the choice of attending virtually because of the  coronavirus outbreak.  I guarantee the majority of Democrats will go virtual just to continue to pus their hyperbolic messaging that the Chinese virus is so bad they can’t even go to work, and Americans should all vote by mail, so that the Democrats can cheat their way into the White House with fraudulent ballots “magically” found that give Biden the lead.  But I digress.

Monday’s hearing will begin with opening remarks by Senator Graham. The top Democrat on the panel, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who previously threw a religious test at Judge Barrett in a past confirmation hearing, even though such a test is forbidden in the Constitution, will follow Graham to relay her hatred of the whole process.  Then each one of the 20 other senators on the committee will be allowed to talk for 10 minutes.  The speeches will consist of Republicans on the committee talking about Judge Barrett’s overwhelming {qualifications} to be on the High Court, and Democrats will claim her nomination is illegitimate and how the Republicans are being hypocritical since they didn’t entertain a confirmation hearing for Merrick Garland when Obama nominated him in an election year to replace the late great Justice Antonin Scalia.  The Republicans will then remind the ignorant, lying Democrats that the tradition goes back to 1880 when the last time the Senate allowed a confirmation in an election year when the president was of the other party, which is exactly why Merrick Garland did not get a hearing and why Amy Coney Barrett will.  With split branches of government, the American people should decide who they want to fill a vacant seat, but if the Senate and the president are of the same party then the American people have already decided.

Democrats only respect and adhere to tradition when it helps them politically, because they are as phony as the day is long.  I think Senator Kamala Harris should recuse herself, because she’s running against Trump and Pence, and because of her despicable behavior against now Justice Brett Kavanaugh.  But don’t hold your breath, because Harris recusiing herself would require a strong sense of fair play and morality, neither of which she possesses.  Expect Harris to be a vicious thug attacking Barrett.

Republican Senators Todd Young and Michael Braun, along with Patricia O’Hara, a former Notre Dame Law School professor, will each speak for five minutes about Barrett’s qualifications to be on the high court before Barrett, who was nominated by President Donald Trump to fill the vacancy of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will be sworn in to testify.

Barrett, currently a 7th Circuit Court of Appeals judge, will then give her opening remarks to the committee to finish off the first day of the hearings.

Questioning of Barrett will begin on Tuesday when Democrats on the committee are anticipated to grill her on issues related to health care, abortion and gun rights.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is on President Trump’s list of possible judicial appointments, said that he expects Democrats to pull some “shenanigans” to disrupt this week’s Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett.  I wouldn’t be surprised if ANTIFA and BLM storm the chambers and start attacking people.

“The delay tactics of the Democrats aren’t going to work and I think we’re going to see, by the way, some more procedural games and shenanigans. I don’t know what they’re going to do, whether it’s try to boycott meetings or try to impeach the president but I think they’re going to try to do something to delay it,” Cruz said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”

“It’s not going to work. I believe we have the votes and I believe Judge Barrett on the merits is going to be confirmed and confirmed by the end of the month before Election Day,” he continued.

Barrett represents a loss for the High Court to Democrats who rely on activist courts to give them everything they cannot get through the legislative process because Americans usually flat out reject them.  The Democrats’ main concern would be the overturning of Roe v Wade, the abortion law that was unconstitutionally created by the Supreme Court.  Wouldn’t it be ironic if a Justice Barrett was the deciding vote to reverse the law that has allowed millions of unborn babies to be slaughtered?

Either way, I think the Democrats will be just as slimy as they usually are, maybe not as bad as the Kavanaugh hearings, but you never know, because this nomination has a lot more at stake for them.
