Since Joe Biden took office, the price of oil has done nothing but go up. At the time of this writing, the price of oil is nearing $86 per gallon.

This is highest price we’ve had since October of 2018. The highest that we’ve seen in recent times though was during the Great Recession when the price neared $150. Then the price stayed between $100-130 basically throughout Obama’s second term. This is what we’ve got to look forward to because I fully expect the price to go up to $100 within the next month.

We all know that when the price of oil goes up, the price of gas goes up along with it.

Everyone is feeling the hurt of these new outrageous gas prices but some are feeling it worse than others. Even still, there are some who are feeling it even worse than they are. One of the states that is notorious for having extremely high gas prices is California.

The price of gasoline in a remote California town reached $7.59 per gallon this week as energy costs continue to rise nationwide and show no sign of slowing down.

The town — Gorda, California — is located in a rural part of the state about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco and is known for its high gasoline prices due to its distance from other areas with gas pumps, according to ABC 7. The price of premium-grade gasoline, used for cars with engines that require higher octane fuel, in Gorda surged to nearly $8.50 per gallon.

While Gorda’s gasoline prices are often an outlier, the rest of the state and country continue to see higher prices at the pump, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The national average price of regular gasoline reached $3.37 per gallon on Thursday, up nearly 6% from a month ago and up 55% compared to a year ago.

The average price of gas in California is about $4.53 per gallon which is extremely high and a lot of it is thanks to taxes in the state.

As I said, the price of oil is going to go up and demand isn’t going to go down any time soon so you can expect gas prices to go up probably another dollar per gallon before all of this is over with.
