I don’t know if I’m just imagining things or getting my hopes up too high
Recently, Bill Maher appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show to promote his tour throughout America.
Maher brought up a study done to determine what Democrats and Republicans thought was the percentage of people hospitalized due to COVID-19. Unsurprisingly, Democrats estimated the amount to be “way, way, way higher than it really was.”
“Liberal media has to take a little responsibility for that,” says Maher. “For scaring the sh*t out of people.”
He then pokes at Kimmel and his “boyfriend,” Howard Stern, for their paranoia over COVID.
On his own show, Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher tells the medical establishment, “Don’t spin me when it comes to my health.” He cites that the US media reports “almost 90% bad news” regarding information about COVID-19, despite the number of cases getting better.
Maher even praises states like Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis’ stance on COVID and his knowledge of the virus’s science and literature. He suggests that DeSantis protected his own state’s elderly population better than the governor of New York.
He suggested that this is why he “protected his most vulnerable population–the elderly–way better than the governor or New York.” The governor of New York is Cuomo, who is embroiled in numerous scandals, including several sexual harassment scandals and a much more serious charge that he is responsible for the deaths of 10s of thousands of elderly patients who he forced into nursing homes to die during the pandemic. Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan is also accused of similar crimes that the media ignores.
Maher’s response is surprising, considering his criticism back in 2020 of Donald Trump. However, it’s a welcome change, and more reasonable voices need to continue to speak out.
