SpaceX and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk stated that he feels Inspiration4 is an important step towards becoming a multi-planetary species.
Musk further stated, “The timing of Inspiration4 was carefully planned to coincide with the launch date.” He went on to explain, “In order to increase public awareness around Inspiration4 we felt it would be a good idea to allow a window of time for anybody interested in going into space but unable to afford their own rocket could take this once-in-a-lifetime trip.”
The flight was an overwhelming success over the weekend and something that is unprecedented. It’s amazing to me to see what the free market can do. Just look at what Elon Musk has been able to do in 20 years compared to what NASA, a government-controlled entity, has done in the last 52 years since we landed on the moon.
I’ll bet you can’t guess who did it in a more cost-effective manner either. Of course, it’s SpaceX.
Musk took a swipe at President Joe Biden on Sunday following the world’s first successful all-civilian mission splashing down on Saturday, claiming that the president was sleeping while history was being made.
One Twitter fan asked Musk after the completion of the mission, “The President of the United States has refused to even acknowledge the 4 newest American astronauts who helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for St. Jude. What’s your theory on why that is?”
Musk didn’t miss a beat and replied, “He’s still sleeping.”
OMG???

Not only did SpaceX have a great successful launch, but this was the first all civilian crew, the first black woman pilot, the youngest American ever in space, the first person in space with prosthesis, and the mission raised $210 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I can’t possibly think of a way this mission could have gone any better unless aliens would have come up and knocked on the door of the spacecraft!
