If there is one thing that Joe Biden is known for, it’s…well, no. Let me just stop there. There are several things that Joe Biden is known for and it would take me all day to list them all out. Let me just start over.

ONE of the things that Joe Biden is known for is making up stories about his past. This week, he did it once again during a speech in which he was addressing the pandemic (which is over if you ask me) the disastrous economy, and infrastructure.

During the speech, he also told a story about when he was a kid and how the prices of gas were going up.

“I grew up in a family where when the price of gas went up at the pump at the gas station, we talked about it at the kitchen table,” said Biden.

So, let’s take a closer look at that and see what the gas prices actually looked like while Joe Biden was a kid.

Joe Biden was born in 1942, So let’s take a closer look at that and see what the gas prices actually look like while Joe Biden was a kid.

Joe Biden was born in 1942 when the average price of gas was $0.20 per gallon. The average price of gas for the next 4 years was $0.21 per gallon. When Joe turned 16 years old in 1958 the average price of gas was $0.31 a gallon. As a kid and never got any higher than that. So, if you look at it from the time that he was a young kid and was able to probably even talk about gas prices it was probably $0.23 a gallon. Between that time and the time that he started driving on his own the price don’t even go up more than $0.10 per gallon.

Now I do understand that you have to consider the value of the dollar back then compared to now. While $0.21 may not sound like much for us today it was worth more back then.

This was equivalent to approximately $3.36 in 2022 dollars. But from that time going forward, the price based on our current dollar actually decreased for about the next 20 years.

So, is this story true? Not likely, but that’s what Joe’s known for. He’s a liar.
