A Kentucky American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) staffer berated Transylvania University over the weekend for accepting Nicholas Sandmann as a student, calling the move a “stain” on the institution.

Actually, it is this ACLU staffer, Samuel Crankshaw, who is a stain on humanity.  Nick Sandmann did nothing wrong.  In fact, his behavior was exemplary for a young man who had an adult male pounding a drum in his face while a racist black cult yelled epithets at him and his classmates while they were waiting for a bus to take them home.

Sandmann made headlines back in January 2019 when a Native American activist stood in front of him and started chanting loudly in his face after a pro-life rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.  Sandmann, who had the audacity to wear a MAGA hat at the time is a supporter of President Donald Trump, stood his ground and simply smiled at the crazy old man who continued to beat on a drum in the young man’s face.

“Does anyone else think it’s a bit of a stain on Transylvania University for accepting Nick Sandman [sic]? I’m sure it’s a ‘both sides’ defense, but it’s pretty counter to their mission and another instance of there not actually being equal sides to an issue,” Crankshaw said in a Facebook post, according to The National Review.

The comment has since been taken down, but it’s been captured ten times over, because it is the Internet after all.

Following the confrontation back in 2019, Fake News networks such as CNN and The Washington Post had been accused of purposely casting Sandmann and his fellow Covington Catholic school student as the aggressors with reporting that was filled with lies.  The Wapo and CNN both settled with Sandmann after he sued them in court for $250 million.

The defamation suit sought damages for the “emotional distress Nicholas and his family suffered” in the fallout of the network’s false reporting, and attorneys for Sandmann have said they will target other major outlets who reported on the story in the same manner.

An assistant professor and diversity scholar at Transylvania University, Avery Tompkins, shared a comment on the post before it was taken down, calling Sandmann’s “public behavior and rhetoric atrocious and uninformed,” adding that the young student must accept his class as gospel.

Dr. Avery Tompkins Diversity Scholar

“We can’t not admit academically qualified students due to their political and personal views. If he ends up in my Intro class, fine. He might learn something that is actually based on research and evidence,” he said.

This professor is as ignorant as it gets.  Has he been living in a cave?  Did he not see the video where Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong?  Did he not see the old Native American man pounding a drum in Sandmann’s face while the young man stood there holding an awkward smile, because he didn’t know what else to do?

Tompkins added that Sandmann is part of groups that hold “anti-intellectualist views” and would see the professor “as part of some liberal brainwashing machine, but signing up for Transy and my class means he is required to learn that information, even if he disagrees.”

So, the professor has preconceived notions about a young man who will probably attend one his classes.  How very tolerant of him.  I wonder what his preferred pronouns are?  This dingbat professor publicly accused a potential student of not wanting to learn his “diversity” lessons in his class.

Tompkins should watch Sandmann’s speech from the Republican National Convention where he talks about what happened to him. Maybe he could learn a lesson from him.

If Sandmann were a liberal, Transy would be canceled by now.

The professor continued: “If he were to cause problems by being disruptive, trolling, or engaging in unethical behavior of any kind, I would immediately document it (just like I would for any student doing the same thing)…and he would just be putting himself in a position for me to file a conduct report.”

Folks, a university professor trash talked a young man who was trash talked by leftist Fake News networks and had to settle out of court because they knew they would lose, an act of admitting guilt regardless of what the settlement papers indicated. Professor Tompkins just targeted Sandmann for the whole student body to hate and to consider him a troublemaker before he even begins his first semester.  And don’t forge the young man did absolutely nothing wrong.

Tompkins later issued an apology saying, “I want to apologize for my mistake in singling out a student and any misunderstandings that arose from that.”

His apology means nothing.  He intentionally trashed Sandmann, because to uber leftists in academia and elsewhere, it is an irresistible urge to announce to your progressive bubble that you hate the person targeted by your speech.  It’s like they believe they will gain respect by putting someone down who is not as woke as them.  It’s a sickness.

On his faculty page, he says the following:

“I don’t want to be the authoritative person in the classroom. My favorite classes are the ones where I get to facilitate and step in as needed. The classes are there for the students. It’s not my soapbox.”

Just not for Nick Sandmann or any other student who was wrongfully accused of something they didn’t do.

“One of my favorite things about working at a liberal arts institution is that our community has diverse perspectives,” he continued. “All students, faculty and staff are able to engage in civil discourse with those whose views may be different from their own, and to learn about those views in an academic setting. I value and support these conversations with students, and I know that students value these conversations with their peers as well.”

Yeah, blah, blah, blah.  We know what kind of professor you are, MS. Thompkins.  I only hope that you are the exception and not the rule at Transylvania University. The university a statement issued on Tuesday, the university said it will be reviewing the situation and that “Transylvania, like nearly every campus, is composed of those holding the full range of viewpoints.” Except for their woke professors, right?
