Vice President Mike Pence visited A Woman’s Place on Wednesday, a pro-life pregnancy center, in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Pence was accompanied by his daughter, Charlotte. The visit is the first visit to be made to a pro-life pregnancy center by a sitting vice president.
A Woman’s Place is a pro-life medical clinic serving North Tampa, Florida and surrounding communities. They provide free medical services including counseling, pregnancy and STD tests, ultrasounds, and more to women and families facing unexpected pregnancies and difficult situations.
A Woman’s Place has been walking with women through pregnancies and parenthood since 1985. They recently highlighted the story of Kia, whom Pence mentioned he was able to speak with during his visit.
When Kia found out she was pregnant, she went to Planned Parenthood and made an abortion appointment. Before her appointment, however, she went for a free sonogram at A Woman’s Place.
“I knew when I saw that little, little thing that I couldn’t do anything, I needed to keep the baby,” Kia said in a video.
She spoke of how thankful she was for everyone at A Woman’s Place, and for the life of her son. “From the moment that I saw him, when he came out,” she said through tears, “I knew that I had made the right choice…”
Pence thanked A Woman’s Place later via Twitter, applauding them for the work they are doing “to save the innocent lives of the unborn, including 10,000 babies in the last 35 years and 500 babies within the last 12 months.”

Pence also spoke at a LIFE WINS! event hosted by the Susan B. Anthony List later that evening. He stated that the Trump administration has and will continue to stand for pro-life policies.
“The pro-life movement is defined by generosity, compassion, and love for women and unborn children. Life is winning because of the compassion and love that have been shown to women facing crisis pregnancies all across the country now and for decades.”

In his speech, Pence highlighted the Trump administration’s pro-life victories these last four years, including the reinstitution of the Mexico City Policy, Trump’s attendance at the March for Life, and the appointment of pro-life justices across America, among other accomplishments.
Pence promised that the Trump administration would continue to stand strongly for life.
