Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders after suffering a hamstring injury in practice Friday. The 23-year-old was expected to play this week before the new injury was added to the team’s report.
Ferguson had been building into a key part of quarterback Matthew Stafford’s offense through the first three games of the 2026 season, recording 63 yards on seven receptions with a touchdown. He then suffered an ankle injury in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos that landed him on injured reserve.
The hamstring issue marks another setback in what has been a difficult season for the second-year player. As the Rams head to Washington looking to extend their current two-game win streak, Ferguson was expected to take on a larger role in the passing game.
Ferguson’s rookie season in 2025 ended on a strong note, with 231 yards on 11 receptions and three touchdowns over the final stretch of games. He has shown the potential to become one of Stafford’s dependable targets if he can stay on the field.
Defensive Injury News More Promising
On the other side of the ball, Rams safety Kam Curl received better news Friday. Curl, who sustained a foot injury last week against the Los Angeles Chargers, was upgraded from a full non-participant in Thursday’s practice to limited participation on Friday.
Curl’s official designation for Sunday’s game is questionable, leaving open the possibility that he could play against the Commanders despite the injury.
