An attorney who says he represents Michael P. Desronvil, identified by the Boston Globe and other outlets as the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case, has gone public with a statement defending his client and warning the public about fundraising scams circulating in his name.
The attorney, identified only as Mr. Paltzik, confirmed his representation of Desronvil in a lengthy post on X. He described his client in sweeping terms, writing that Desronvil “loves the United States of America as the greatest country in the world,” “cherishes our sacred Constitution,” and “supports our amazing leader, President Donald J. Trump, as a fellow defender of common-sense, liberty, and sanity.”
Paltzik said Desronvil is currently staying at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England, and said he remains “utterly unbroken” thanks to his Catholic faith. He added that those who “so viciously attacked” his client “will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law and beyond.”
Warning on Fundraisers
Paltzik’s post also included a pointed warning about online fundraising activity connected to Desronvil’s name. “Any and All GiveSendGo or GoFundMe accounts that purport to be operating on behalf of our courageous lone holdout juror American Hero and Champion of Justice are 100% FAKE, or at minimum, were created by well-meaning individuals who we are not yet in touch with,” he wrote, adding that his team is working to arrange “appropriate and proper measures” for handling donations.
He urged the public not to “fall victim to opportunistic bad guys” and said his team would need time to sort out which accounts, if any, were created with good intentions. According to People magazine, crowdfunding pages set up in Desronvil’s name have already raised more than $100,000.
Paltzik said his office would comment on substantive matters only sparingly in the coming days and directed all media inquiries to Ray Marcel, who posts under the handle @FugitiveTV_Live, saying no one else is authorized to speak on Desronvil’s behalf.
Account of Deliberations
Marcel had earlier helped Desronvil speak publicly after what Desronvil described as repeated media attacks. According to Marcel, Desronvil said the jury was not gradually persuaded over nearly 40 hours of deliberations that Clancy lacked criminal responsibility when she killed her three children. Instead, Desronvil said eight jurors favored a not-guilty verdict from the first day of deliberations, two favored guilty, and two remained undecided.
“He said that from day one, he said eight of them were going for Lindsay Clancy not guilty,” Marcel recounted. “That was on day one. Eight were going not guilty. Two were for guilty. And two didn’t know. They didn’t make up their mind.”
Marcel also said Desronvil described the eight jurors who favored acquittal as “activists” who pressed the others each day. “He said to him those eight felt like they were activists,” Marcel said. “Every day they would vote. The eight that felt that Lindsay was not guilty were trying to convince the other four, ‘Hey, Lindsay is not guilty.'”
